Summary: Initially a great deal as a refurbished. But... upload the latest updates and "poof" your voice function disappears. This is well documented on the internet groups. Try reloading the original install disc and you get your voice features back, but...
Summary: Okay, so I am the woman that is always lost. I have lived in the same area my whole life, but if I get turned around, I am hopeless. I started a new job about a year ago where I would be seeing clients all over Los Angeles County, and I knew I was in trouble.
Summary: I purchased the Go 510 because of the great reviews. I was a little dissapointed to find that my home address is not on the GPS map, like many other people this can be frustrating when the maps are not up to date! I have found many places not on the GPS map system, so TomTom get them updated!!!
Summary: This unit is an older unit so the software loaded with it is dated 2006. I just bought in in July 2008. For anyone looking for the most up to date maps out of the box this is not the unit for you. I bought this to replace a Magellan Roadmate.
Summary: WHY DID I WANT THIS MODEL? I got this as a Combo Christmas & Birthday present from my boyfriend. I asked for a GPS unit that was easy to use because I was tired of calling my boyfriend when I was lost to ask him to look up directions on a Yahoo or MapQuest to guide me to my locations.
Summary: I am greatly disapointed in the quality of the product. The device frequently takes 5+ minutes to locate my position when I turn it on. I shouldn't have to get the device out to the car and turn it on several minutes before I leave so that I can get directions to my next destination.
Summary: I have had nothing but trouble with this unit. It could not navigate on the olympic peninsula in Washington state. Resets itself too often. Finally, when I really needed it one night, it died. Not a power issue as it was plugged into the car with the charge light on.
Summary: I have been disappointed in my TomTom for a number of reasons; so many in fact, that I don't know where to start... Perhaps the Ben and Jerry's in the POI for Mammoth Lakes, CA when we were on vacation that landed us in the middle of an apartment complex (perhaps they have a condo there...?).
Summary: The unit arrived as promised. I took it out of the box. Read the "quick start" instructions and fired it up. It took about three minutes to fire up and locate itself. My wife and I used it on a trip to a new area with about 20 stops to be made.
Summary: We were so happy when we bought our first GPS unit 8 months ago. But our experience with TomTom GO510 has been a frustrating one. The unit requires frequent resets, sometimes right in the middle of unfamiliar places.
