Summary: IT WORKS FANTASTIC LIVES UP TO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO AUTOMATICALLY PUTS MY CONTACTS IN FROM MY IPHONE. NICE SIZE SCREEN EASY TO READ VERY PRECISE WITH DIRECTIONS WORTH THE PRICE I PAID FOR IT
Summary: My husband uses the TomTom. He is very picky but rates this navigator highly. Saves him time spent in traffic because of its ability to warn about traffic hazards and accidents. Gives you the opportunity to change your route, rather than sit in traffic. Highly recommend the Tom Tom!
Summary: I was back and forth on this GPS or a Garmin. I read soooo many comparisons till my head hurt. I broke down and bought the TOMTOM and have never regretted it. It way out performs my 2012 Nissan Altima's $1750 Built in GPS. Crushes it in fact. The voice recognition in it is very good. Easy to operate and the touch screen is responsive without being over sensitive. I have had this unit for 8 months with no issues. The LIVE updates are great.
Summary: I reallly like how this has the on-line type search function for plaxws of interest. It is easy to find whatever you want wherever you are. The lifetime map updates are a great value, I got a great deal and I am very happy with it.
Summary: I really like the GPS unit; however I did have problems with the updating software. The Tom Tom staff responded quickly responded to my questions and made changes to their software. Everything seems to be working fine. With this unit there is a one-time load of speeding/security camera data, but other cheaper TomTom units have free updates for speeding/security camera data. When you attempt to buy the data, that they tell you to do, it doesn't seem to be available??
Summary: I was very leery on purchasing this unit based on the reviews. However, I have an older TomTom and it was great. Never a problem. The first month I had this device, I ran into the know bug of the voice commands not working. I was able to resolve it by doing a soft reset. It has now been 6 months without issues, until I went to update maps and software. After I completed the updates last weekend, I could not update the maps. I was getting an error of insufficient memory.
Summary: In July, 2012 I purchased a TOMTOM 2535M GoLive. By October, this GPS no longer worked properly, and the handsfree phone service did not work at all. I called the customer service number and after much delay was sent a return label. I returned the GPS and three weeks later, I have received nothing. I have called the customer service in Mexico and get nothing but a run around and excuses of a bad phone connection. They WILL NOT send a replacement GPS as promised.
Summary: Six months out of warranty the device developed a software bug and keeps rebooting. I assume the bug was in one of the updates. None of the fixes on the TomTom web page can be used to solve the problem as none of my computers recognize the device. I now have an expensive paperweight. I also got a NUVI about 6 months ago. Much better spoken instructions and graphics. Buy a NUVI and save yourself some grief.
Summary: I bought this GPS unit specifically for the Live traffic updates. After two very lengthy telephone conversations, I was told that there is a technical problem with that feature. I was told that there is no ETA on repairing the problem. I would suggest waiting until this issue is handled before spending the extra money for this unit. Update on Jan 3, 2013: I finally got the Live Update feature working on phone call number 4.
