Summary: I bought one of these for me, and one for my daughter. I've had Garmin, Lowrence AirMap & Magellan, as well as built-in GPS units from Honda (Goldwing) & Ford, but the features on this one sounded like just what I wanted. Bad idea. Neither of these units will hold a charge, even though they are supposed to have internal batteries. When they are unplugged, they are off.
Summary: I'm not sure why some have given this a negative review; this piece of gear works great! Voice recognition works very easily. I head to Paris in a week so will see how the European maps works, but local here in the Northern Virginia/DC area is spot on. I had a few problems connecting it to the computer to sync up and download new maps, but once I downloaded the new "MyTomTom" Home, it worked like a breeze.
Summary: When going to replace an older GPS I heard all of the hype about Garmin. I tried them out, and they could not match this unit for ease of use, but especially the clarity of the glass 5 inch screen. I had a problem with this unit, and had to get it replaced. The replacement is without problems. I also bought a 5" Tom tom Via for $100 less at BJ's with a regular screen, while I was waiting for the replacement and it is functions exactly like this one.
Summary: Although I purchase it more than one year ago I think this is worth to write and note that there is some problems with this model. I bought it on May and after try to use it I had to return it because GPS was having problems with battery. As usual Amazon immediatly replace it but unfortunately it started having problems with battery.
Summary: Used it on one trip. The controls work great. Information was current. I returned it because teck support could not figure out how to make the lifetime maps work. Bought a Garmin - had no problems with it updating.

Summary: After having some difficulties getting it to link to my Tomtom account I was able to get to start downloading updates. The map update and to begin installing. Shortly after install began it gave a message that something had gone wrong and to contact customer service. I called and spoke CS rep, they use for updates had some issues and that I should give them a month or two to get things working correctly.
Summary: When the TomTom GO 2535TM works, it works great. I truly enjoyed using it. It was fairly easy to learn how to use, and it always got me where I wanted to go! However, last Thursday, January 10, 2013, my TomTom GO 2535TM stopped working again. I say again because I had to have it replaced (under warranty) a few months after I first got it. This time the symptoms were the same - the unit simply stopped working! Luckily for me, my unit was still within its 1-year warranty.
