Summary: After doing a little research I decided to buy the TomTom GPS vs Garmin (I previously owned a Garmin). I live in Houston and wanted a GPS which would deal well with traffic. Initially the GPS unit performed as advertised and I was quite happy with it. The interface though is pretty slow and buggy at times (hard to get used to bad touch screen interfaces after using an iPhone). But the traffic functionality performed great.
Summary: TomTom GO 2535TM World Traveler 5-Inch Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic & Maps and Voice Recognition I wish I had taken notice of the reviewers.I purchased this device and had it delivered to a hotel in California where my wife and I would be spending 2 weeks on holiday and using , we thought, this device to help us get around. Switched it on and stood outside under a clear blue sky - unable to find satellites.
Summary: I have already had my TomTom replaced once by the manufacturer. Unfortunately I am still having problems with lockups and hangs with the GPS. I am also having a problem with getting the map updates on the GPS when they are available. Inevitably I have to completely wipe out the GPS before I can do an update successfully. Also the TomTom utility is VERY limited since they switched to a web based tool.
Summary: GREAT PRODUCT. BUT Tom Tom dropped the ball on 3 hugely important features that should be simple software updates: (1) No compass arrow (2) No addresses provided for POI - stupid at its finest (3) No menu item for "travel to an intersection" All these were features on my prior Tom Tom products I miss that are AGGRAVATING to not have. Also, one more screen tap is needed to type in an address than older models, also stupid. Limited voices to choose from.
Summary: Regrettably, I just returned my TomTom 2535. I had read numerous reviews before making a purchase, and believed that it was one of the best units currently available. I can't speak about that; I never got to use it. The reason is that the My TomTom software required to synch the unit to a PC is an utter failure.
One Good GPS... Tested and tested..Very Happy !!!!

Summary: Reviewing this product may help those who has been looking for Good GPS for long with load of workable features.. After my Magellan 4700 broke down , I started searching for one better than that....so here is what I did.. I bought three GPS Garmin NUVI 2460 lmt, Tomtom Go live2535 lmt with HD traffic and Magellan 5045 lmt( since I was very much satisfied with previous Magellan) Considering the fact - Nothing in this world is perfect..Tomtom 2535 performed the best..
Summary: I bought a TomTom 2535 M and a Garmin 2595LMT at the same time so I could compare the 2. With Amazon's easy return policy, I knew I would keep 1 and return the other. To make a very long review short, the Garmin was better in almost every respect, except probably the 2 most important items. Route calcualtion and traffic. The TomTom was generally better at finding the smartest route.
Summary: My job requires me to call on various school districts in and around the Houston area. My old TomTom suddenly stopped working so I needed an immediate replacement and chose the 2535M based on a "better the devil you know" criteria. I must also say that a GPS is absolutely indispensable to me in my work and saves countless hours in dealing with MapQuest, etc to find the best routes to schools that are spread out over a very large area.
