Summary: I got the TomTom Go 2535TM WTE for a christmas gift. At first, I was thrilled as it looked great with some fantastic features. Then I attempted to use it. Many features do not work very well at all. Bluetooth calling is kind of a joke. It is ONLY hands free once you actually make the call. You have to use the onscreen menu to actually make a call. Adding routes by speaking the address worked very poorly.
Terrible Customer Service. This GPS must be recalled. I want justice!

Summary: I have never written a review about anything before, but I really want to share my experience with Tomtom customer service about 2535tm. I bought this device about a year ago. It worked great for about 4 months, then the battery died. After wasting several hours on the phone with customer service, they came to a conclusion that my device needs to be replaced. Replacement worked for about a month, and battery died.
Summary: My experience with vehicle based GPS is limited; I have a Garmin eTrex which I use for walking (love it) and I have an old Magellan with a tiny dim barely-viewable screen that got put in a draw a while back and hasn't seen the light of day since. With regards to the TomTom GO 2535TM the first thing you notice is the 5" screen.
Summary: First things first. I've been a Garmin guy since 2000 and have owned several Garmins. So I base my review on my comparison of features against Garmins. I've also used this unit for the past month in the US for a trip from Dayton, Ohio to St. Louis, Missouri and also in Europe so I've put it through it's paces. PROS: - Lifetime Traffic and Maps (No lifetime maps for Europe though). Don't understand why not, but that's the deal. - IQ routes..
Great device! The voice recognition is amazing also!

Summary: UPDATE: I am on my second device and the battery has stopped holding a charge. This and the first one lasted for a few months and then started to no longer hold charge until the unit would not work without being plugged in. I also had a large issue where I was trying to update the device on my MacBook Pro and when I unplugged the cable from the device (still plugged into the computer), the device cut off and the computer cut off.
Summary: First of all, I live in Los Angeles and I've been using this GPS for about 6 months now. I don't know what's wrong with this TomTom but I find the software to be incredibly glitchy (the sound will turn off for no reason, or it will reset randomly). It's also VERY slow to recalculate/replan your route and find your position if you are coming out from underground parking.
Summary: Installation was easy and the safety suggestions for mounting this little device out of the driver's main line of sight to traffic should be followed to the letter. Like many electronic aides the TomTom makes a fascinating toy and improper mounting could distract a driver into an inadvertent game of "chicken". The last thing the world needs is another distracted driver. On my pickup truck there is a backward sloping panel beneath the cigarette lighters.
Summary: If TomTom wanted Beta-testers, they would have had no shortage of volunteers. If TomTom had delayed the release of this item until it was fully functional, they would have had a few disappointed pre-order customers but otherwise happy users. However, charging customers the current price for a buggy product which is clearly not ready for sale is unacceptable. Selling this product in its current form is false advertising. Plain and simple. I'll start with the positive: 1.
Summary: Bought this since I was experiencing since local route funkiness on my Garmin 2595LMT. I gave them both a couple weeks spin and it was pretty clear cut to me that the TomTom had to go back. TomTom GOOD THINGS: 1. Magnetic dock mount - I pack away the unit every time I park, so this saves valuable time vs fumbling to plug back in the Garmin 2. Screen is bigger than the Garmin. About as readable as the Garmin most of the time. 2.
Highly Disappointed with Services and TomTom, and I was a repeat customer

Summary: The GPS works fine most of the time, but sometimes it reboots on its own... I also purchased it for the Live HD traffic which is great when it wants to work. I am very disappointed with the service. Sometimes it starts up within minutes, other times it just hang with a grey circle. I've reviewed the forums and it seems to be a very problematic area for TomTom with no resolution. This issue has been known for a while now.
