Summary: I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.. WENT TO FLORIDA AND PUT IN AN ADDRESS AND IT TRIED TO TAKE ME TO A STREET THAT WAS THE BACK END OF WHERE I WANTED TO GO.. JUST BOUGHT THE ITEM SEVEN MONTHS AGO AND BATTERY DOESNT STAY CHARGED. THE ONLY WAY MY TOM TOM WORKS IS IF IT IS ALWAYS PLUGGED IN TO THE OUTLET OR LIGHTER IN THE CAR...
Summary: I have this unit and have had to have it replaced once now because the battery died at about 4 months in and the unit is completely useless - won't charge. Replacement or should I say REFURBISHED replacement came and it's the same story - battery is completely dead and won't charge and guess what? TomTom won't do a thing about it. It's not under warranty any longer so they wash their hands of it.
Summary: I had an old TomTom that was alleyways dependable, so we bought this when it finally died. We took it on a trip and it was never able to find a gps signal without resetting it a couple of times in a couple of ways. Which took almost as long as our destination. If we hadn't brought AAA maps we would have been lost. I would rate this product 0 stars if possible.
Summary: Like most of the other reviewers have stated, the battery in this model is defective. Mine died after 2 months. I haven't returned it yet due to laziness and busy, and getting the run around from Tom Tom Customer Support. The swivel isn't very tight either and I drive a lifted Jeep so I have to readjust it regularly. The map routing is better than my last one from brand X but it still makes stupid recommendations sometimes.
Summary: Unit worked pretty well for the first month, but after an update, it killed the battery. Basically the unit only works when it it plugged in. Even after returning it 3 times for a new unit, each unit eventually fails after a month. All TomTom will do is give you another defective unit. What a waste of time and money. Many other people have also had this issue [...
Pros: - Free traffic and map updates - capacitive multi touch screen
Cons: - slow response time to touches - slow redraw rate on screen - updates to maps and software take ~7 hours! (on 30Mbps internet) - battery dies permanently in a few months - warranty does not cover shipping ~$20 - cheaper to buy a new battery on ebay
A Beta Product that NEVER Should have been Released

Summary: I have had this TomTom GO 2405 GPS for over a year now and I hate it. I purchased it when I was brand new and TomTom promised all sorts of fancy features (custom voices, custom car symbols, custom POIs, etc) that were not available at launch and still are not properly implemented. TomTom's web site has "directions" for installing all of the custom features but all of the links go to incomplete pages or go to a page with no content or content not supported by the GO 2405...
