TomTom GO 2405 TM

19 February 2011
  • Summary: The new Go 2405 TM and 2505 TM are among the best GPS devices that TomTom has ever made, packing loads of useful features into a handsome chassis for a pretty good price.
  • Pros: The TomTom Go's glass capacitive touch screen is super-responsive and does a good job of showing off the updated interface's crisp graphics. TomTom's menu structure receives a major overhaul and is now much easier to use. Bluetooth hands-free calling, free traffic and map updates, and voice command for control and address entry round out a strong feature set.
  • Cons: The voice command system doesn't feature onscreen prompts or much spoken guidance, leaving users to check the manual to learn what commands are available. While much easier to use, TomTom's interface can still be a bit confusing and overwhelming as new users learn their way around.

TomTom GO 2405 TM

PC Magazine
3 December 2010
  • Conclusion: TomTom ups the ante with the Go 2405 TM, the company's latest high-end GPS—its glass capacitive touch screen, ad-free traffic reporting, and slick magnetized mounts are big pluses, even if it's not quite as capable as the competing Garmin 3790T overall.
  • Pros: Bright, glass capacitive touch screen. Attractive, detailed map graphics. Magnetized mount. Clearest voice prompts we've heard to date. Lifetime traffic reports are free and don't display ads. Very fast route recalculations.
  • Cons: A little buggy. Screen resolution is the same as older TomTom devices. Not the thinnest GPS around.
