Summary: Are you the driver or company owner of heavy vehicles such as semi-trucks, buses or RVs? If you are then you are probably aware of how important it is to be able to transport either goods or human beings from one location to another in a timely fashion. Many times, there is no room for you to fall off course, as there are commitments on the other end of your journey that need to be taken care of.
Summary: I purchased this and after one navagation it kept erroring out. I left message for support and never received a return phone call. I did get incontact with them and was sent a new update (VIA MAIL ). Have not tried it yet because I just got it. I feel that a company that charges 15 % restocking fee ( no exceptions ) and no quality checkes before shipping is a company that you stay away from.
Summary: Purchasing the World Nav GPS was a bad mistake, couldn't wait to get home and return it. The unit has a long way to be developed before it will ever be worth using in a commercial vehicle, or any vehicle for that matter. The performance and accuracy is horrifing!! We left Goddard, KS for Riverside CA with no restrictions on the load. It insisted we go I35 to OKC, OK and out I40. That is what the shortest truck route and auto route it gave us. We went down Hwy 54 to I 40.
Summary: Terrible directions from GPS. Does not route the truck on truck routes.Tested from the house where I know there are low bridges & very hard turns and it sent me right down that road.Thats not good!!! Also you can be heading east and the GPS tells you your going west.Takes you off at exit ramps then puts you right back on highway when the bridge that crosses the interstate is plenty high enough. Its either the GPS is messed up or they did a terrible job programing it.
Summary: The unit is slow to find your position; it will tell you to turn just as you are passing the turn. It takes you down back roads and out of the way of the main highways. If you go the wrong way it is so ridiculously slow to figure out that you are already heading in a different direction, it will show you that you are still going on the right way for one tenth of a mile and then jump around for a minute or two before it knows were it's at.
Summary: The product is undeveloped. The idea is good but it was not achieved. Extremely small screen which makes it very hard to see. The device freezes constantly. For the truck route GPS, it's very badly designed. Takes me through areas where trucks are prohibited. Huge delay on current location. For example, I cross a side street and the device still shows me that tha street is ahead of me. Terrible product. I am in the process of returning it.
Summary: You could not here the voice on the gps and when I called about it all to see if there was anything that could be done about it. The people at Telotype acted like they could care less and said there was nothing to be done. All they wanted to do was sell me a more expensive one so I could here it. What a joke. I sent it back.
Summary: Comments about Teletype WorldNav 3300 Truck Navigator: I bought this GPS as a Father's Day Gift for my father that is an OTR Truck Driver. He has called me a dozen or more times thanking me for the GPS. He states how reliable and accurate the system is, and it definitely helps him to transport his cargo in city areas without getting lost or spending hous trying to map out haz-mat runs.
Summary: My husband drives a truck and forever gets turned around; since this item was designed for trucks I got one for him. He is admittedly technology challenged so he is very careful, however the unit is defective. The place you plug it in doesn't connect on the inside and the unit shuts down. if the plug in moves at all the unit shuts off. I have written to the Teletype people and they will not return my emails. We bought it here through Amazon from SKYBOX.
