Summary: Given that it's a Sony, I thought that this would be a good item. Yes, this is used and all, but it worked for all of 4 hrs and then went kaput. I have been charging and charging this item, via AC and via USB, but all it does is turn on and then die. It's worthless.
Summary: This is my fifth GPS. Three of my previous ones (a TomTom One, a TomTom One XL and a Magellan Maestro) were stolen and the third was a Magellan Maestro that I thought was dead but repaired. Nonetheless, I bought this one because I didn't want to spend another $200 on yet another GPS.
Summary: The GPS was working well for a couple of weeks and I was happy enough. Then when I returned from a trip to VA, it stopped working. Now the battery will not charge and the touch screen does not work. So it is dead in the water.
Summary: I love this GPS and since it is a sony, you can not go wrong and it is very precise! The volume of the navigation is great even with the radio on. This is a great basic GPS for the price. The unit is four inches wide, three inches tall and a half an inch thick.
Summary: The nv-U44 made by Sony has more features then could be expected. The only problem is that Sony no longer is in the GPS business and is not providing updates since the release of maps 2009a and firmware 1.1 release. The update map if you can find it is very pricey.
Summary: I had originally received the NV-U44 as a gift, it was stolen from my vehicle so I had to get another GPS, bought a Tom-Tom but didn't like the features so I gave it to my son, bought a Garmin but it took forever to get signal, ended up getting my other half a different Sony GPS with a bigger screen...
Summary: Sony NV-U44 GPS receiver that you want to go home and it shows you the way. This Sony navigation device’s 3.5-inch High Brightness Si-TFT Active Matrix anti-glare touchscreen makes reading map on-the-go real easy, even under broad daylight.
