Summary: The GPS units are no longer allowed on the windshield (if you live in CA). If you need an external antenna to assist the NV-U94T to find satellites (in a timely mannor),then the VCA-42 antenna accessory is what you need. Since the VCA-42 antenna is not available anymore, any GPS antenna with MCX connector will work for the Sony NV-U94T.

Summary: I liked the product. It has served me well in the 2 years I've had it. Just went to Sony site and there is no map update available on the SOny site any more (was there in early December, but now no longer available. Called and the customer service rep at Sony said that there may no longer be any updates available for this product (not an out of stock situation) just no updates.
It is my second Sony GPS and I am very happy with it. It does everything a good GPS must do. Recommended ++++++++++++++++++

Summary: I just like everything about this product. Easy to use and it has an outstanding features. It picks up signals and directions faster. It tells you where to turn about a mile or two away b4 you get there. I just like everything about it.
Summary: I have had this GPS for nearly 2 years. I love the interface and display. PROBLEMS: It does not look like Sony has any intention to support the GPS through Map Updates. Sony has not released any new maps. Therefore the map is really old. Sometimes it takes a very long time for the GPS to locate the satellite. IT IS A SHAME THAT SONY SELLS THIS PRODUCT TO CUSTOMERS FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND CHEATS THEM BY PROVIDING NO MAP UPDATE AND POOR GPS SATELITTE LINK.
Shows 2 Screens During Turns At Important Intersections

Summary: This product is currently not being sold any more by Sony which is sad. Sony had the best GPS device during 2006 to 2008, when their GPS was being produced and sold. It also had the largest screen of 4.8 inches, which was the largest at that time. Now its common to find screens at 5 inches. I brought my Sony GPS in 2007 and love it. Its still better than almost all the current top of the line GPS made by Tom-Tom, Garmin, and Magellan.
Summary: i love this gps, mainly because it has "split screen" function. whenever you reach a intersection, it splits the screen and shows you small and overall map at the same time. and counting down the distance of reaching the intersection you want to go. so i barely take wrong turns and get into wrong intersection. very handy. voice is loud enough to hear but not "noisy" as some other gps.
Summary: This device is slow on getting GPS signal when boots. But once it gets signal, it works well. It has better accuracy than magellan. The split screen is very nice feature, u can hardly miss a turn. Search by address is not very user friendly. It asks ur street name before the City/town name.
