Summary: NOT Dual-View-3D Junction Guide, just left split screen bigger than right,NOT Real-time traffic information radio reception, NOT The Nav-U comes with a 3-month traffic subscription or need to check with Sony at 800-222-766, the phone call picture isn't in this item, 2007 map even cannot update. Except these, other things are fine in this item I bought.
Summary: OK, I read reviews here and I have a chance because this is my first GPS buy. First weeks I was excited with new possibilities which GPS gives you. Maybe 1st or 2nd week I would come here and put 5 stars but after real life test we ended up on 2. After 2 months I simply realized that is not for me. It is slow. Search of places is also not practical at all... you can't do it with zip code, once I had zip code but not city name...
Summary: The price is decent with a good screen and resolution but it includes maps of Puerto Rico and sony will not send upgrades or support this product in Puerto Rico. Why include a Puerto Rico map and not give support. overall the Puerto Rico Map should not be included until they are ready to support the local market. Do not buy if living in Puerto Rico. On line upgrades would be a great addition.
Summary: This thing will get you there eventually but your gonna go sight seeing and take extra gas money. It takes you the long way I guess to get you to interstates and not back roads. I might need to look closer to the manual maybe you can bypass stuff, but who has a computer in their car to fire up the disc. This thing also shows icons for stores that aint even there no more but does not show an icon for a store that has been there forever and still is there, i.e. 7-11.
Summary: This is a nice unit and the electronics are great for the current price. Make sure you run the firmware update for the unit and the software update for your computer. However, Sony support is serious lacking. The map mine came with (bought Jan 09) if from 2007. The customer support at Sony is clueless about dealing with this. I was told I had to buy an update off the Sony web site, but that update does not exist.
Summary: Long story short. In looking for a GPS I researched and tried Garmin, Magellan and TomTom. I then decided I needed a GarTomGellan. I thought I found it in this Sony unit. The screen is beautiful, the best in the industry. Once you get accustomed to it, the menus are very easy to navigate, and driving with this unit is a pleasure. The brand icons are great, an again, this screen is incredible.
Summary: So I am in the market to get a GPS unit for my car, so after reading some mixed reviews about the Sony NV-U73 I decided to try it out for myself. Now I am a Sony fanboy so I was hoping that this product would do very well for me, especially since it was on sale at the local Radio Shack. Let me start with the good: 1. Beautiful display, bright with lots of contrast. 2. POI's come up on the GPS as their logo..
Summary: I have had similar experiences of this model with everyone else here who has posted review. This unit is a pleasure to look at, a very big screen and the graphics makes other brands look like cheap toys. The extra functionalities such as split screen and branded POI are nice touches. The maps and POI seem mostly accurate but was missing a local new highway interchange finished nearly 2 years ago. However, the price seems a little high given its feature set.
Summary: I had been leaning towards a Garmin nuvi when I first read about this unit, and after doing some research decided to give it a try. I must say that I really liked it for the first few days when I was playing with all the gimmicks that I haven't used before (my friend has a nuvi 350) like the split screen and touch-gestures. However, once that wore off, the 73T really boils down to a pretty aggravating piece of equipment.
