Summary: I bought this GPS thinking it was great buy but, it's bad. I can't use it in any other state other than NJ. I tried to use it NY and it doesn't take an address. Its hard to follow since it gives us the turns and everything late therefore i have missed many of my exits. Its not reliable! I highly do not recommend anyone buying GPS!
Summary: A very impressive bright and clear screen with fantastic colors. Very easy to understand how to setup trips and go thru all of the functions. The features leave nothing to be desired. Better than my Garmin 660 and 765T. Points of interest can be located on the map and thereby seen during the trip. However, for whatever reason the screen will suddenly become blank and the unit must be reset prior to becoming operational again. I have had it a week and it will be returned.
Summary: Product has a great screen, but is a horrible gps. It will not pick up a gps signal at times. I have tested it with 2 other units at the same time, they will pick up a signal, the Sony will not. It got me lost 3 times on the first trip I took with it. Do NOT buy this GPS........I have tested 20 different types, Sony and Nokia are the worst.
Summary: May have good features but it is EXTREMELY fragile. Some over paid VP decided to place a micro thin piece of glass as a cover for the screen it breaks buy light handling. I bought 2 at once and both were broken with in 2 months.
Summary: The most positive thing about this unit is the display. I've owned 3 GPS navigation units over the past 8 years (Magellan, Tom Tom, Garmin) and this one definitely has one of the worst user interfaces when it comes to inputting data. I can't understand why Sony didn't simply look at the features in competing units on the market. Also, the unit is quite slow. Battery life is poor.
Summary: I found this GPS at Sam's Club for the unbelievable price of $119, it originally retailed for $300. I soon realized why they were being `liquidated'! As soon as I got it home, I went online and updated it with the most current system software-v3.12. I did this because I had read online that the OS that the device ships with is `quirky' but that the newest release solved most of the problems. I really wanted this guy to show me its best face.
Summary: Bought the unit on Feb 13. It had firmware v2.0 in it. As we all know the unit is practically unusable with that version. The website doesn't allow you to download update to their latest version (3.02) from versions 2.0 or lower. You have to have the version 3.00 to be able to do so. If you don't have a version 3.00 or higher, you have to order a free update disc, according to their website. I ordered this update through their website on the same day I bought the unit.
