Summary: I don't know why Amazon.com is still selling the XV2 as it is no longer supported by the manufacturer Sonocaddie. Therefore, if you have problems with your unit, as we did, Sonocaddie will refuse to repair it. When I asked them why Amazon was still selling the XV2 the Sonocaddie representative said she had no idea but perhaps "they have some old stock." So, buyer beware. Personally I wouldn't ever buy a Sonocaddie product again.
Summary: I bought the XV2 December 24, 2009. During the 5 months since I purchased it I've played 12-15 rounds with it. It's very basic but when it's working properly it does all I need and all I expected. The orange button on the top right has quit working and the batteries drain after every round unless I take them out. I've contacted customer service and they've offered me the opportunity to purchase their new model that's just coming out.
Summary: This is without a question the worst golf GPS in the market. You can tell it is very cheaply made, I imagine slightest water or accidental drop can damage this unit very easily. Downloading a course information is a royal pain, and the instructions are not very clear, they do however attache an additional instructions for downloading. After downloading you've better go back and set your computer to its original settings, otherwise expect the surprises from your computer.
Summary: Prior to replacing my old model SkyCaddie, I did a great deal of research on newer GPS units. On paper, the Sonocaddie XV2 came out on top, based on the type of information I was looking for from a golf GPS and the price. After receiving it, I spent an entire day attempting to download courses, without any success. On five occasions, I attempted to contact technical support, and received no responses -- online or via phone.
Summary: I have had my Sonocaddie for about 3 days and can't get it to download any courses! I can log in to the website, but that's about as far as I got. The instructions are fuzzy and incomplete for those who aren't computer savvy. The frustration is that I ordered the unit to use over the 4th of July Holiday, and when I ran into problems, upon contacting Sonocadie I found they were closed for the week due to the holiday. Not much help here.
Summary: Pros: I find this unit to be pretty darn accurate as far as distances go. The battery life isn't to shabby either, and being able to throw in rechargeable or disposable AAA batteries is very convenient. Cons: A lot of the hazards and such found on other programs are no where to be found on my screen. Downloading courses can be a confusing and annoying task.
