Summary: First I commend the shipment department for a timely shipment. I received it within three days of order. I have used the Sonnocaddie v500 for two 18 hole rounds and would be more if weather permitted. I have found no faults with this great GPS . The screen is very bright and clear. I like that I can lock the screen with a button on the side and can manually advance and back up to the desire hole with a buttons on the bottom front, automatic is great but I prefer to do it...
Summary: I purchased this item through Amazon and used it on several courses. Not a single course I played had all holes mapped correctly. Some holes were incorrect by over 25 yards. The GPS was worthless to me. I contacted Sonocaddie and they asked me to return it to them to see if it was a problem with my particular unit. I included information for specific holes on courses that the yardages were wrong.
Summary: Love this gps. I have used it for 3 weeks and played several courses in the area and all were pre loaded. It could use more buttons as you must cycle through several peles to get were you need to be.
Conclusion: I just received the Sonocaddie V-500 for a Christmas Present. I live in Minnesota, so didn't get a chance to use it until this June 2011. The one really only good thing about the product is that it is accurate. Besides that, the product clip used to hold the product on SUCKS!!! You have to make double sure it snaps onto the GPS properly, otherwise it will fall out. This happen to me 6 times in the first 3 times I used the product.
Summary: Loved this thing until my sixth round playing with it, 16th hole, sitting in the golf cart, one leg in the cart, the other leg on the grass. It slipped out of my hand and rolled down my leg, rolled off my foot onto the grass. That jarred something loose so it won't stay on. My fault? Yes. Could it be a little bit more rugged for outdoor use? Yes. I returned it for a full refund. I'll try a Garmin and see it it's better. Otherwise, awesome.
Summary: THIS PRODUCT STINKS, THE FIRST ONE I GOT LASTED 9 HOLES BEFORE IT DIED. I PAID $15.00 TO SHIP IT BACK TO SONOCADDIE .THEY HAD IT FOR A WEEK BEFORE THEY LOOKED AT IT THEN SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TOLD THEM NOT TO SEND IT BACK TO ME BUT THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY FOUND A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND FIXED IT. I TOLD THEM I WANTED A NEW SONOCADDIE NOT A REPAIRED ONE BUT THEY REFUSED.
