Summary: After going through 3 of these trying to find one that was correct on every hole on a golf course, i found there were none that were. They were always off from 5 to 15 yds. on some holes. If i could have found just one that worked i would have purchased a new skycaddie but alas, it was not to be and i am moving on to another brand. This was after many contacts on the website and many updates to try to get it right. All failed.
Summary: The Skycaddie SG4 (rechargable) is a GPS that for some is a good basic hand held unit. I had found it very useful clear markings and yardages were close to marked courses fairways. The lengtth of charge of unit was also as guide indicated (approx 14hr). For the person who just wants basic yardage and doesn't want to bother with a gaggle of confusing options as some of the more advanced and newer GPS rangefinders it is great.
Summary: Overall works fine. Charging cable a little tricky to hook up at first but after using a few times gets easier. Sometimes has to be reset to get accurate readings. Some come with different software versions. Would give overall rating 5 stars if not for the cable hookup and having to reset unit a few times.
Summary: got a laser rangfinder some times i cant use it easy to use love it like my skycaddie thank you use it all the time even my home course revamped it even more deadly ----------------Lee Edwards 6 hcp
Summary: I've heard people complain about the screw on the back & actually registering it, but i've had no problems. Maybe i got lucky with mine, and i bought it used. I'm a basic golfer that just needs to know how far the hole & hazards are. If you want more detailed info & colored satellite looks, this is not for you. My buddy has the golf link on his phone & paid as much as me to download it, as I had to to download courses.
Worth the money but try it out right away to make sure you got a good one.

Summary: I just purchased this refurbished SG4 Sky Caddie and signed up for the one year membership. Downloaded courses and tried to use it but the GPS would not link to the courses. I called Sky Caddie and waited over an hour without anyone answering. Tried the on-line live chat and waited over 2 hours and no answer. Finally called early on a Tuesday and they talked me thru a reset but this did not work.
Summary: I recieved the GPS and found the battery was shot. I got a new battery and went to thw SkyCaddie web site. I entered my Zip Code and downloaded the courses for my area. When I went to the Golf Course 15 miles the GPS could not find the course. I paid $60 dollars for the download for my area and did not get the courses I go to. I am fed up with this unit and I am going to dump it. I will resell the unit on Ebay.
Very good golf GPS with one minor design issue. Well worth the money.

Summary: The only real drawback to this unit is the design of the interface cable connector, but once you've used it a couple of times, it's really not an issue. There are a number of reviews indicating yardage inaccuracy, lost GPS connections, etc. This can be a problem for ANY golf GPS device, and varies by location. I used the SG4 for two years, and only had to reset the GPS connection twice (in over 75 rounds of golf) to re-establish GPS connection or fix accuracy issues.
