Summary: battery cover failed after first battery recharge, screen packed in after being used about a dozen times in two years manufactures reckon it was damaged (how they came to this conclusion i will never know) now they want £55 to repair the unit what else will go wrong next.
Summary: I bought mine about 18 months ago now and have been nothing short of thrilled with it. I have posted this review to address some of the comments left by others. I have just suffered from the unexplained breaking of the battery back cover and had to order a replacement.
Summary: My main reason for buying this product was to be able to log position of features and points from which I take photos and to create track logs, rather than to show me where I am walking. Hence I may not refer to it for long periods.
Summary: I've been using the Active 10 Plus for a couple of years now and would highly recommend. Easy to use, even with gloved hands. Nice and clear and Satmap service is second to none. The battery life is brilliant with the LiPol battery.
Summary: As a mountain leader I've used and tested quite a few GPS devices and own several. Summary: We use this for walking in europe in the summer and winter skiing also. Only use it for tracing our paths and looking at them at home but it can do so much more with ease. simple to use and set up, maps of europe are not cheap but are good enough quality. Would I buy another - most certainly.

Summary: Bought after walking solo and getting slightly lost. Liked the idea of having the OS maps. The screen does not show much of the map at one time, relatively low resolution compared to todays electronic tablets. Also the zoom does not change scale of map.
Summary: I am retired, so wanted something to give me total freedom to go backpacking again. It is taking time to learn, but the effort is worth it. It does everything I can think of, and some stuff I can't. It's a very good technical product, and certainly runs rings round my garmin.
