Summary: this unit was defective, after having it for 5 weeks it started do as it pleased. directing me under low bridges around the block when it was 4 addresses away.blinking screen etc.called rand McNally was told there was nothing they can do, never again will I buy a Rand McNally product
Summary: I am horrified by this unit. I am now sending it back for the third time due to breakdowns, but even with that here are some other faults; 1. The save this location option saves anything within a two mile radius. Just about useless, apparently there is a way to make the location more exact, but why not just do it properly, apparently they are 'working on it'. That's what the whitehouse says with about as much honesty. 2.
Summary: DRIVING A TRUCK IN THE CITY WITH A STANDARD CAR GPS PROVIDED BY MY CELL PHONE DOESNT COMPARE. BUT PRIOR TO THIS PURCHASE, IT WAS ALL I HAD TO WORK WITH. THE FEATURES OF THIS GPS ARE INCREDIBLY TRUCK FRIENDLY AND NOT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND AND UTILIZE. IF YOU DRIVE A TRUCK, BUY IT! YOU WON'T BE SORRY.
Summary: This unit will get you to where you are going but no matter if you select shortest or fastest you can be certain that it will be neither faster nor shorter. DO NOT blindly follow directions from this unit, (you'll be sorry you did if you do). PLAN YOUR TRIP, the old fashioned way, (you'll be VERY glad you did). This unit will always give you the most convoluted and indirect route possible no matter what you set your preferences to.
Summary: This GPS is designed for people who drive for a living, mostly trucks. With that there are features that are addressed to meet these specific needs - thing like bridge, toll and ferry avoidance among other things. Navigation is done through teh Navtech system so mapping and directions are pretty good. Really, while all this sounds good on paper, I found using the device rather awkward.
