Fortunately I knew where I was Before heading East

Thomas Ebaugh, Amazon
2 November 2014
  • Summary: Never able to get the Bluetooth to work correctly. Even had radio shop replace microphone 3 or 4 times and locate the microphone at several different locations. Radio is very hard to use. Navigation is "stupid". Navigation tried to take me 4 miles East (rt. Turn) then 7 miles North then about 6 miles West then 3 miles South from a point that when I took a left, I drove 4 miles North and I was there! Fortunately I knew where I was Before heading East.

Don't buy if you want to work for more than year

T. Brown "Lookin' for a deal", Amazon
19 December 2011
  • Summary: One year later, the product doesn't work as intended. Bluetooth not functioning at all If only Pioneer actually cared about their customers, I might be inclined to give this at least a 4 star rating. The unit worked great for exactly 13 months. Then the bluetooth stopped working inexplicably. Rest of the device worked fine, but now it would seem the BT chip has died.

Love the nav system

Rita, Amazon
3 September 2011
  • Summary: I am very happy with this system i don't agree with the bad reviews. I play movies from my iPod touch and i play movies from my flash drive. I listen to XM and listen to HD radio. I also installed a backup camera, One of the features i like best is that the navigation system when pulled up gives you 7 different ways of getting to one destination. I also find the video quality is excellent. I love the 7" display. I search for months looking for the right system.

I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for an "All-In-One"

phiberoptik-lrs, Ebay
25 August 2011
  • Summary: I purchased one of these units new for my 2005 Silverado. I liked the unit so much that I purchased another for my wife's 2003 Tahoe. About the only complaint that I have with this unit is the GPS system. It works well enough to get you close, but tends to lag a bit. If you don't pay close attention to the "Next Turn" directions in an unfamiliar place, you may end up passing the turn.

Good beginning but needs major design improvements

The white bear, Amazon
27 June 2011
  • Summary: I have had this unit for over six months. First the good points. The navigation part works, I love the iPOD connectivity and the hands-free cell phone operation works well. Very helpful at night, in bad weather, or in fog. Irritating items: The touch screen is irratic and not easy to use. Often I unintentionally select the wrong item or I can't get it to scroll up or down. Very distracting in traffic.

A great system...worth the money!

SZAA "Lover of All Things Written", Amazon
4 June 2011
  • Summary: Overall: I think the AVIC-z120BT unit is great, unlike any other head unit I've ever owned before. I've had two other Pioneer and a couple other Kenwood units and for the most part, Pioneer does not disappoint. Replacing the stock unit in a 2002 VW Jetta, what I noticed first was the dramatic sound quality improvement; it sounds incredible. The 7" screen allows enough space for all the displayed information to be easily comprehended.

Bad echo on phone calls

Bob, Amazon
2 June 2011
  • Summary: I'm not sure why no one else has mentioned this but everyone who calls me gets a horrible echo when talking to me in my car. This has been explained as the mic picking up the callers voice over the car speakers and broadcasting it back to them. Right now the original Pioneer mic is installed on the steering wheel column. I will move the mic around but the car is a small coupe so don't think that will matter.
