The AVIC-U310BT is a full-featured navigation system with built-in Bluetooth® for hands-free calling and Apple iPod/iPhone® control. The 2-DIN system provides the sound and features such as turn-by-turn route guidance and wireless connectivity to Bluetooth enabled cell phones. The Pioneer AVIC-U310BT utilizes a full-color 4.3-inch WQVGA touch screen display and 2GB of flash memory. It features voice guidance of directions and text-to-speech technology that enables the unit to provide verbal prompts to specific street names. Powered by Tele Atlas®, the unit’s database covers the United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada and includes 500,000 points of interest (POIs) in 147 categories that can be accessed via six navigate search methods.
The Pioneer AVIC-U310BT comes with AVIC-FEEDS® feature that allows users to import custom destinations, POIs, and contact lists, upload photographs, create custom illumination colors and store a driving log in the device. Users also have the ability add up to 12 million POIs or a Mexico map (via SD card) with optional add-on packages available from Pioneer. The AVIC-U310BT offers three map views: 2D North Up, 2D Heading Up and 3D. It also employs the Highway Sign Board View, where highway signs will appear onscreen when a junction approaches for visual aid while navigating. The feature forewarns drivers by highlighting the sign and the proper driving lanes they should be in for passage through interchanges and exits. The system also features Drive Report which provides the fuel cost for trip routes, estimates of the vehicle’s CO2 emissions and logs and archives the data to generate various reports. Users can also transfer driving data such as abrupt stops and accelerations to AVIC-FEEDS for an analysis of driving habits and suggestions for fuel efficiency. The Pioneer AVIC-U310BT enables playback of MP3, WMA and iTunes AAC music files and features Pioneer’s Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) which restores musical detail lost during the encoding process. The AVIC-U310BT also supports a USB interface that provides a connection to compatible portable media devices including thumb drives, flash memory devices, and iPod/iPhone music players (via optional cable). Music files on compatible iPods/iPhones can be accessed using various methods including Alphabetical Speed Search where users can scroll through their music lists by the first letter in the name; Link Search where users can recall similar content to what is currently playing by artist, album and genre and Passenger Control that allows passengers to directly control the iPod/iPhone device.See less

the phone until I downloaded the OS4 upgrade last week. I now get an Error 19 when I try to access the Ipod option on my phone. Any suggestions? I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in per the manual's instructions but nothing works.

I bought the 310BT unit four weeks and am very disappointed. The Nav function is terrible. My basic Tom Tom had a much more robust POI selection and even though Tom Tom screen was smaller it was easier to read and navigate through. Terrible shame on Pioneer. the AVIC PIO feeds are not integrated into the Nav so it doesn't tell you the closest POI to say a Target or Walgreens. You have to know where they are. It is also useless if you go outside your zip code. The music system is great, I must say. The bluetooth is compatible with my Droid. However, there is no hands free bluetooth. I know Google is having problems with the Droid is having problems, but there are no functions on the Pioneer until to to voice activated hands free call outs. It is plainly false advertising to say this is a hands free device. People have written that the AVIC downloads work. But they do not. I have downloaded it from the Pioneer site, and transferred to my memory card. It says to install this on the "top layer" folder. What is this? There is no defintion of this. I assume it means do not place in a subfolder. It does not upgrade when I install the faceplate into the car and turn it on. Useless. Any help would be appreciated. Jay
