Amazing product!!!

Alan Wehmer, Amazon
29 March 2013
  • Summary: I'm very happy with this item......or I guess I should say, I was. It's a great Product at a good price. But, just now getting around to reviewing past purchases from way back and I would still be using this but for getting an iPad some time back so I'm now using an "App" called Waze..........with an internet connection, it tells you where the problems/cops/traffic-jams/etc., are.

Pharos 140 The worst GPS I have ever use, dont waste your money!

sarda, Amazon
7 July 2010
  • Summary: Pharos 140 is the worst GPS i have ever used. It is even dangerous since you need to do multiple stops to reset, does not give you detailed and precise instructions,it is hard to use, not friendly at all. The voice prompts are insuficient are imprecise. You must be out of your mind, desperated or ignorant (like i was) to buy this GPS. I got it for my wife, she has never been able to use it. When i use it in her car, i go crazy.

What a GPS

boyetramos, Ebay
13 October 2009
  • Summary: Easy to use and it's a great machine with a great price. I like it. A+++ The dislike about this little machine is are very limited memory of the address that you've been. But the total performance is good. Highly recommended for the future buyer.

Maps carved out in stone would be better

R. Foland, Amazon
25 May 2009
  • Summary: I purchased one of these "fabulous" units while traveling in Texas two years ago. I purchased it at a discount at a local "going out of business" CompUSA. After a couple weeks of trying to make this horrible excuse for a GPS unit work like it should, I gave up and tossed it on the floor of my truck where it has sat ever since. There was no returning the unit to the now out of business CompUSA.

Worst Freaking Thing I Have Ever Bought

Brian Alvarez "Angered Amish man", Amazon
6 January 2009
  • Summary: Dis so horrible! So BAD! umph! Bloody thing sickens me! I damn near threw up because of this ruddy object. 1) The Bluetooth feature is very appealing, being a homeless man on the road. Too bad the Bluetooth doesn't work at all, and now my phone won't turn on! Umph! Thanks, Pharos! 2) The touchscreen is a nice feature... too bad it broke my fingers! -- Because it sucked! Umph!

Bought shortly after the PDR135 purchase!!

hansolo99, Ebay
27 November 2008
  • Summary: This is AWESOME. Everything is easy and VERY understandable. You cannot go wrong with this unit. I bought this one for me and gave the PDR135 (also a PHAROS GPS and another great item) to my wife. This is so easy to use and can be up and running as soon as it is active. I am VERY HAPPY and now need one more for my UTV so I dont get lost fishing!!

Bad Customer Support

G. R. Kilgore "CTO", Amazon
3 March 2008
  • Summary: My Drive 140 came without the 2 Gb SD chip in the box. Customer support would not send me one. I had to supply my own SD chip and am now in the process of downloading maps from Pharos website - three per day limit! The GPS is underpowered so the display lags behind real-time - if you are using it to navigate to a location you can easily miss a turn. All in all, I'm very disappointed with the product, but even more with the customer support.

Does not perform as advertised

F. Bina "FredB", Amazon
29 December 2007
  • Summary: This $320 to $360 product does not perform as advertised. For E.g., it can not find a main street that even a cheap GPS finds! It is hard to work with as well. Hope somebody likes it, but not me.

Can't believe the negativity

Chris Gray, Amazon
6 December 2007
  • Summary: Wow, I can't believe the negativity. I got one a couple a months ago as an upgrade to a competitor's brand that I had used for many years. I love the blue tooth. I can make a call either from my contact's list or from the device itself. As far as routing capabilities it and I have disagreed a few times, but that is nothing unusual as I use to do that with my other one as well.
