Summary: I keep using this thing and I'm trying to like it, but it's slow and out of date. It needs a driver to connect to a PC, but I haven't found it yet. So no updates are possible. I have a Magellan that’s a couple of years newer and it works. This Nextar does not.
Summary: I bought this unit years ago and not use it very often. Recently, this GPS is total died. It can not be turned on with the AC adaptor nor the full charged built in battery. Nothing can do with it and need to get another one.
Summary: I got this for my husband for Christmas and he just loves it! We use it for many purposes and it's been perfect! It notices when we go off course and redirects us, it's great for when my husband goes with "his intuition" on the directions! :-) The display and sound quality is clear and precise, I highly recommend it!
Summary: Just used the Nextar twice. It wouldn't holde a charge. It went down while we were programming it in less than an hour. When we really needed it on our second trip it quit just as we were exiting the turnpike and froze. The unit wouldn't come back on. It was plugged in and should have been charging as we were driving but it ran completely down then stopped. When we tried to recharge it, it wouldn't turn off and wouldn't recharge with the electric charger.
Summary: I was thrilled when I received this unit, but after testing it for less than 2 hrs, sadly I decided to return it because the POI's are lacking...I was sitting in a store parking lot (surrounded by stores of all types: Best Buy, Target, Old Navy, Weis Mkts, Kohls, etc.) and it didn't pick up any of the stores I was near...only ones about 3 miles away.
Summary: I have used both TomTom and Garmin gps products before, but my mom purchased the Nextar system for 3.5inches to use for a trip. It was a terrible experience The system itself is extremely laggy, and that kills the system. It takes upwards of 10 minutes (most was about 11 minutes) to acquire a satellite signal.
Summary: For the first two months of having this GPS unit, I was pleased outside of wishing for a louder volume setting. Many other units I've used have easily been heard over the radio when set at a very reasonable volume level. My unit was very unpredictable with how long it would take to make the initial satellite connection. This was inconvenient on several occassions, taking up to 5 minutes to connect.
Summary: Nextar 3.5-Inch Touch Screen Bluetooth Ready GPS Vehicle Navigator With MP3 Player I have had this GPS for several months and am pleased with what it has. The bluetooth works great although you don't see the map or hear the directions when you are driving while talking and it was no problem connecting to my Blackberry, just download the instructions from the Nextar website (Google it and you will find the website).
