Summary: It did take a considerable a mount of time to recieve item, but packaging was good. Looks as promiced. Have only had one opertunity to use it as of this date ( 10-19-12 ) and it got me where I wanted to go.
Summary: I purchased a Nextar Q3 to use primarily as a secondary speedometer in my car, as my car's speedometer is a little iffy, with the navigation function a distant second to that. Here's some things you should know before you purchase this product: AMONG THE BAD: 1. As far as I can tell, there's no "real time, just turned on" navigation mode.
Summary: I bought this GPS for a young girl who was moving out of town to college. It worked for all of 3 freakin days and then went blank. She called a few days later to tell me and I called J&R who was selling the GPS. They said they no longer sold this product and I couldn't send it back and I was just out of luck with them. That was within a month of buying it. Nextar was no help and so this thing is a P.O.S and I really feel taken by this product and these companys.
Summary: This is an old model (as of Spring 2009) and is available quite inexpensively from a number of places. The GPS is pretty basic, with little chance of getting new maps from the iffy support from Nextar. I also found that recalculation of routes was ridiculously, and uselessly, slow. Not a good bet for a car GPS.
Summary: This is a great GPS unit which is very user-friendly. I never knew why I needed a GPS until our recent vacation, in which it saved the trip and found us our destination, which without it, I don't think we would have ever found. I also love the feature that allows you to look up local businesses, restaurants, etc.
