Summary: i was planning on long trip (500 mi and above) , when i got direction from mapquest it was a page long with "gazilions" of street/route names and numbers., so i decide to buy budget gps( nothing fancy - because i dot use gps a lot) this particular model came with charger ( in package) , with 0% battery life , so i had to charge it ( not a big deal , just trying to worn other people , who might think their unit is broken) = in 10-15 minutes it got charged to 100% battery...
Summary: This product is great, when it works. All of the features on here are great (except the mp3 player feature which is mediocre). There are a ton of great display, route, and POI options, all easily navigable and optimized for your use. I will say though that the maps are not up to date and there is no way to update them. Atleast not one that I've figured out yet. Regardless, it is quick to reroute you when you blow past those annoying one ways.
Summary: This is a great little unit suitable for car, motorcycle or bicycle use. Good battery life, and recharges quickly and easily. Re-routes well when needed and does what it needs to with minimal fuss. Be sure to use the stylus when you use the touch screen if you have large fingers to ensure that you don't hit the wrong key, otherwise it is great.
Summary: There is a 2 minute start up wait. After that everything works well. Was able to find a little shop in N.C. Works better than Google maps. By that I mean it was more precise in turn by turn. I use this thing for local and long trips.. I love this thing.
Summary: We've had the C3 for 10 months. When it works, it's usually very nice. Unfortunately, we've had numerous issues. First, it takes a long time to triangulate on startup (~3-5 mins). Second, we've had numerous times where the shortest route was actually much longer than the real shortest route (yes, we also tried changing the default settings and used a second GPS that had no problem finding the real shortest route). Thirs, the unit died on us twice.
Summary: You are better off spending more money and buying a GPS of a different brand that will actually last longer and doesn't have built in software problems. I bought one of these and used it for about a month during which it worked fine, until one day it suddenly froze and kept giving me a "fatal application error" message. I had Amazon replace it with a new one.
Summary: I bought 2 nextar C3 GPS units. One for me and one for my daughter. Hers works fine. Mine worked well in the house except that it said my home here in the florida highlands was 37 feet below sea level. My home is actually 81 feet above sea level. I took it to my garage to check it out in the car. With the car engine off, I pluged it in to the cigarette lighter connection and it imediatly burned up.
