Summary: There is a 2 minute start up wait. After that everything works well. Was able to find a little shop in N.C. Works better than Google maps. By that I mean it was more precise in turn by turn. I use this thing for local and long trips.. I love this thing.
Summary: You are better off spending more money and buying a GPS of a different brand that will actually last longer and doesn't have built in software problems. I bought one of these and used it for about a month during which it worked fine, until one day it suddenly froze and kept giving me a "fatal...
Summary: previous reviewers have said most of what I would say about this, so I'll limit this to only what hasn't been said. I upgraded from a Garmin i5, and I am very glad that I did. I wouldn't advise that you spend too much on a GPS system, since they keep getting better every year, and cheaper ( I just...
Summary: The Nextar C3 works as good as I expected for the price I paid ($149). I will recommend it. I had it for 3 months got to move from Tennessee to upstate New York. The directions were right all the way up and I been using it to get around in my new state and no problems so far.
Summary: I bought 2 nextar C3 GPS units. One for me and one for my daughter. Hers works fine. Mine worked well in the house except that it said my home here in the florida highlands was 37 feet below sea level. My home is actually 81 feet above sea level. I took it to my garage to check it out in the car.
Summary: After using this GPS for a recent trip out west I am glad I purchased it. For me the Nextar GPS paid for itself. When it came time to find a hotel for the night all I did was look under the hotel listings and call to find out what their prices were.
How can they expect you to wait 4 months for replacement part?

Summary: Purchased in August, this unit came with a defective car adapter cord. In other words, you are fine until the rechargeable battery gives out-- you will have directions for the first 2 hours of your trip only !!
Summary: PROS: * Cheap! * Destination calculations fast. * Good maps (but questionable "best-path" calculations) CONS: * Street name labels only appear at a zoom level that is too zoomed in. (This to me is unacceptable because the resolution is clearly available to draw the names).
Summary: I've onwned this unit for a while now and amazes me how well it works. It even has options that my $500.00 Garmin 2720 does not have. It is so easy to use there is no need to read the instructions. Will pickup a good satellite signal inside my house!
