Summary: Based on my experience with my product: My advice to you? Do NOT waste your money on this product. I am appalled that it is still being sold, such that I am moved to write this review. I see all the units are used, no doubt being sold by people keen to quietly get rid of this awful item. It is slow, bordering on being totally unresponsive.
Summary: The Navman Pin 570 has been quite unreliable for most journeys and have had to reset the device on mnay occasions. The device contains a GPS receiver which has difficulty obtaining a signal and is limited by the internal GPS chipset. Apart from MP3's and using it as a normal PDA it's fine, but dont rely on the battery as it's very short lived. Overall the device has been over priced, as I paid £270 back in the day when it first came out.
Summary: I drive trucks for a living and need a reliable sat nav system sadly buying the Navman Pin was a big mistake. On long journeys >100miles it invariably locks up completely which requires a hard reset this means an involved process of recalibrating the screen running "the using the pda" and smartST tutorials and then inputing the destination information.
Summary: Unit freezes constantly and has to be re-set thus losing all data. UK maps already out of date on purchase. European map CD's supplied with unit have to be unlocked - at a cost of course. I wouldn't buy one of these units again and would advise any would-be purchasers not to bother. Pay a little more - it's true, that you get what you pay for.
Summary: I was tempted into buying this device for its personal organiser features. These do work; however, the lack of connectivity (no gsm/gprs/bluetooth/wifi) limits its usefulness in practice. Ironically it really falls short as a NAVigator, MAN... Many built in bugs plagued it from day one.
Summary: I bought my Navman from a company caled MNC (My New Cheap - also avoid - awful customer service). I returned it as it I believed it to be faulty (freezing when toggling to different map views but sometimes for no reason at all), but the second one was even worse. Aside from the (major) crashing problem, which means you often have to reboot the thing mid-journey and go through the license acceptance, screen alignment process and user tutorial before waiting up to 5...
Summary: SAT NAV: Brilliant when it works. GPS SIGNAL: Took 40mins for first time out of the box to pick the signal, afterwards picked the GPS signal within 3 minutes only twice during my 5 days of me keeping it. Everytime its 20-40 minutes. 4 hours at one time. Useless GPS. PDA: Brilliant for Pocket PC. A bit slow on processing side but does the job. Microsoft have done a good job on the software side.
Summary: Una porcheria totale!!
