Summary: This is a great product. I love having it in my car. I have a job where I am on the go all the time making house calls. I eat on the run and this device allows me to always find the closest resturants, and gas stations with it's "Nearest point of intrest" feature. My only complaints are that with new locations it won't register, and that it will occassionally freeze up for a short time, but will usally recover pretty quickly.
Summary: This is a standard GPS. Perfect for a nervous driver. All you have to do is to follow the directions. The ease of use is incredible. I dont want an MP3 player, bluetooth etc etc in my GPS. All I want is to get to the destination without any hassle ... you will get it in this Navman.
Summary: S. Garfinkle posted a nice list of pros and cons...but the following limitation that he included in his list of cons: "Only has two display modes "3d travel direction up" and "2d North up". I kind of like "2d travel direction up" that is available on some other devices. Again, not a killer." ...is incorrect.
Summary: Very easy to work with. This is the second GPS unit I have purchased and used. I am very happy with this one. The screen is nice and uncluttered, the routes are great, the rerouting works like a charm, the voice sounds polite... It has all the maps I need already loaded along with points of interest, including gas stations and parking lots. The gas station thing is very handy when you're on a country road or even out of town.
Summary: I had been looking for a sat nav for a while and I didn't need anything fancy just one to get me from A to B and I eventually came across this, after doing abit of research I went ahead and bought it and I have to say it has never got me lost so far. It has got me everywhere I needed to be. Granted it maybe doesn't have bluetooth, music player etc but for getting you to your detination I think its great.
Excerpt: We were going to France two years ago and so we decide to purchase a SAT NAV to help us find our way around France. We did our research and commited ourselves to the Navman iCN 530. One of the main reason for buying the Navman iCN 530 was that it comes with an European map which suit our purpose then. The SAT NAV comes in a black casing with easy to use buttons, the TFT touchscreen is clear and easy to view.
Summary: Let's start off by saying that for the price of this Unit you cannot go wrong. If people expect it to have the same functionality as the latest and greatest TomTom at less than a third of the price then they need to take a reality check. I bought this specifically as I was moving to London and obviously didn't know my way around so wanted to get some help on that front.
Excerpt: "The Navman 530 is the successor to the ICN 520 Sat Nav that I own. Buying this was a present for my parents that I landed up keeping myself and buying another for them. Originally I was looking for a simple yet quality packed Sat Nav. As per its predecessor, the 530 is a simple Sat Nav to use and not one of the many PDA's with a Sat Nav function. Navman have been making Marine navigation for a long time and have used the advances they made for sea ...
Pros: Start up speed, signal strength, cost, onboard memory, USB charging
Summary: Purchased this recently. Haven't used any other satnav device. I thought until I got this one I did not need a Satnav but have changed my mind now. It is great, although, UK map is not quite up to date. A recent trip to Bedford, I found out that roundabouts have been changed to traffic lights. I have come across this on few occassions, makes me wonder how old the maps are.
Summary: after much searching and reviewing i took the plunge and went for the icn530,and mighty glad i am as well.this is a top notch sat nav system, worked straight out of the box and although it comes with extensive instructions,i was able to fiddle around and set it up without any problems.it is easy to set up a route and the map is displayed with clear instructions, voice instructions could do with being a bit louder but they,re clear enough.mapping is easy and points of...
