Summary: it has been worth every cent I paid for it. it hasn't been updated but still has most of what is needed. son carried it in his pocket and used it in Boston a few years ago and found every place he needed to. great starter for someone without a lot of money if they still sell them.
Summary: Well, I've had this baby for two years now. So, I'd say I've gotten a good feel for it. Overall I think this is a great little GPS unit. I'm a motorcycle rider, I like to tour, and I've used it to plan out several multi-thousand mile trips (a separate route for each day). Of course I also use it in the car. I've never used any other GPS unit, but I did a lot of research on features when I bought this one. Good - small/compact, fits in any pocket.
Summary: Good luck trying to get an updated map for this product. I loved my unit when I first bought it, the size, features, etc. Now that it is 4 years old, it needs a map update. I can't get one anywhere, even at Navigon's site.
Great All Around GPS with 20 solid Channel indoor GPS RECIEVER

Summary: Best of All: First of all the software on this unit is the same as all the other Navigon GPS's, they do software and map updates every Quarter and actually just released one not to long ago (June 2008) Highlights: Here's the Best PART - Its GPS Signal Strength: The Mighty SiRF The Pocket LOOX uses SiRF's high performance SiRF Star III 20-channel indoor GPS receiver.
Summary: It's not the best gps out there but if you are looking for something cheaper than $300, this is the one to go for. It is slow starting up, and a couple roads have been out of date but overall it has worked really well! The screen is very colorful and nice, it has lots of features I like (speed limits, directions if you are walking, night time dimmer) It fits in pocket perfectly and I don't feel like I need a bigger screen at all.
Summary: This is a great little device. It exceeds expectations. The reviews I read were critical of the LOOX's speed... BUT I find it quite fast. It re-reoutes quickly and getting around the interface is no big deal either. The points of interest are surprisingly detailed! I imagine that I'll be able to find alternatives to fast food chains with ease during future long hauls across the US. It even points out supermarkets!
Summary: Not the best, but not bad. Good for the price under 2 bills. Able to lock in with 8 sats indoors impresses me, tho it is showing my location off by about 30M/100ft. That also showed up when I was traveling on I-55 South as it didn't recognize I was on the expressway and kept directing me to exit and enter. Knew I was on 55 N on the return trip, tho. Came in real handy when I missed a turn in unfamiliar territory and got me back on track to where I needed to go.
Summary: We are house hunting right now and my husband gave me this device so I can find my way around. I can say it really helped a lot, especially for house hunting trips with multiple destinations; you can preload all the addresses in route planning, store them, go back to them, sort them and look for Points of Interests in the area, i.e. where are the schools, the parks, the post office, etc. You feel like a local as they say on the packaging.
Full-powered GPS Navigation with the benefit of portability
22 March 2008
Summary: No longer do I have to print maps, stuff them in my pocket, read them while I'm driving, and encounter the inaccuracy that so often comes from online direction maps. I simply type my address into my Pocket Loox, stick it on the dash and start driving. After over 50 trips to unknown destinations, the device has consistently guided me accurately.
