Summary: The navigon has very good and apparently current maps. The GPS is user friendly, has an excellent display. I have used several GPS's and this unit is in my opinion has the best overall rating. The voice input will work but apparently it doesn't understand southern language very well. Nevertheless I have had limited success in using the voice input. It has taken me multiple time to obtain the correct input.
Summary: In spite of negative reviews this was the only sat nav that ticked all my boxes. Newer models no longer have the FM transmitter which is a feature I like. Unlike some others I've tried, this Navigon let's you hear instructions, music AND phone calls through the stereo. On receiving the Navigon, I connected it to the Internet via Navigon fresh and was treated to all new maps and a software update free of charge!
Summary: I purchased this Sat Nav as recommended in WHICH? and have been delighted with its accuracy ease of use and completely reliable route recalculation and traffic jam avoidance capacity. It misses any micro climate feature of alerting you to iced roads etc so travelling on minor roads with below zero is your loookout! For a modest expense you have an unmatchable and useful all Europe (UK included)sat nav.
Summary: Dear customers I wish to allert you that this product is not optimally working. I've used it but all connections are extremely slow. E.g. the bluetooth had to connect each time with my phone, taking minutes to set it up. The connection with the radio was not good as there was a constant noise from it. The traffic information didn't work at all. The phone was crashing from the very first moment.
do not buy a Navigon unless you're absolutely sure it's working properly! And even then . .

Excerpt: It seems like a nice device with very useful options like TMC, Bluetooth en a FM transmitter. And I suppose that there's nothing wrong with its design. As long as it's functioning. . . About a month ago I purchased the Navigon 8110. From the start it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do: navigating. No gps reception, no gps receiver icon on the screen. So, after two days of failed trials and resets, I tried to contact the support desk.
Summary: Oh I did so much want to like this. Navigon are a relatively small German company, still battling against TomTom and Garmin. But this product won't cut the mustard. It looks beautiful - all brushed stainless steel and a 4.8" screen. But I tried - and failed - to get it to synch with FreshMaps on 3 separate systems (Vista Home Premium, XP and Vista Business).
Summary: Recently purchased this unit as an alternative to tom tom but it appears they need to perform more R&D on the product. Heres the lowdown: Pros + Pretty fast at calculating routes + Good graphics + lane direction tool very good + Free traffic and speed cameras + POI's included + own stylus included Cons - product cannot be updated by their own software - confirmed by navigon - doesnt recognise some post codes and when you try to update it wont update either - instructions...
Excerpt: I have got one of these from Navigon direct and I can say the unit is fantastic. The Voice recognition works really well and even identified my street (I normally have to spell it out to take away places, so didn't expect the GPS to recognise it).Instructions are nice and clear, windscreen mount is a very nice and easy to use design, although it has a 4.8" screen the unit itself is actually smaller and more pocketsized then my previous 4.3" GPS unit.Lets not...
Excerpt: Really excellent replacement for a dead TomTom 910. On screen graphics are nicer than anything I've seen before. Especially the 3D view where you can see the undulations in the land etc. Really top notch build quality, the screen bracket looks like it cost £50 alone. Free traffic over the air is a bonus also. 100% recommended!
