Summary: I liked this device very much, but am unable to update it and unable to contact customer service. During a recommended update, the Navigon Fresh software turned my device into an expensive paperweight.
Summary: This is my first GPS, and the main reason why I got it was the included Traffic. Just about any other GPS around this price required you to by an additional Traffic receiver. The traffic updates work fantasticaly, as well as the POI's.
Summary: I bought my Navigon GPS (7200T) because it had the most features for the lowest price. That still holds true. Very nice unit- attractive and works well, too. Recently, I wanted to update the maps, but there was no Freshmaps Activation card in the box from Amazon.
Summary: feature rich but quirky and unreliable device. I have not used the device much over the last year (purchased Dec 2007 Xmas. This is partly due to the limited amount of travel during this period and partly due to the unit not functioning.
Summary: Edit May 2010: The maps in my 5100 are becoming rather long in the tooth, and it's starting to approach worthless. There are numerous roads and changes in the area I drive (IL/IN/OH/PA/WV/KY) that are not marked on the maps, and areas where the roads are undergoing wholesale changes (PA is...
Summary: I bought this after using the Garmin Nuvi 350. I am traveling for work and my wife needs the other. I was very pleased with the Garmin, but wanted something with Text-to-speech without paying a lot. The cost is great ($150 from Radio Shack). The fact that it comes with free traffic is AWESOME.
Summary: I did a lot of research before purchasing this GPS unit - all of my friends said to go with a better known brand, but I can't see them doing the job this does any better. It tells you exactly what you have to do - the voice is loud enough over music you may be playing, the directions are clear and...
Summary: Comments about Navigon Navigon 5100: I find this unit to be great for the price, the lifetime traffic is a blessing (I have been routed around slow zones twice with no problems!) the speaker is a little hard to hear, but I tucked a thin card like a pocket calendar between the mount and the unit and...
Pros: Compact, Easy Menus, Easy To Read, Easy To Set Up
Summary: Comments about Navigon Navigon 5100: I have had two other GPS. This one is simple and easy to use. The screen is hard to read and the voice is hard to hear. My other is a TomTom One and is very eay to read and no problems hearing the voice comands. Pay alittle more and get the 7100. I wish I had.
Pros: Acquires Satellites Quickly, Compact, Easy Menus, Easy To Set Up, Esae of setting up, Reliable Performance, Simple Controls
Summary: I bought this back in late 2006, early 2007 and at first I was very happy with it. It loaded fast, I liked the visual directions and it took me to where I needed to go. Then recently I started to get frustrated with it. I did the update and street names where somewhat off in terms of pronouncement.
