Not a bad deal

  • Summary: I caught this unit on sale for under $100 bucks. I am happy with the features and ease of use minus the update options. I downloaded an update provided by the manufacturer that was supposed to include an updated map but instead it erased my settings and locked up the unit. I had to send it in to be repaired. Thankfully it is under a warranty repair.

Almost perfect!

  • Summary: It's only missing Bluetooth connectivity, and this GPS would have it all at a great affordable price... I did not experiment the lengthy period for the GPS to find a satellite, as described by other users. I did download and install the latest software from Navigon, though... I highly recommend this model, especially for the free traffic updates and just hope Navigon will add Bluetooth to the next model.

I concur this GPS is a gem

  • Summary: My experience with the Navigon 2200T mostly mimics those of others. I traded in my 4.3 inch Garin for the 3.5 inch Navigon mainly for the lifetime traffic and the pocket size of the device. Like most traffic systems, the information is often not timely and consists of the rush hour slow downs in places that you already could predict. Missing are the exceptional accident and road closure information.

bang for the buck

  • Summary: In addition to what other have already said .. Pros: - Text to speech with street names is very clear. - Lane assist, reality view, speed limits and free traffic updates are very useful. - Route re-calculation is almost spontaneous. - GPS seems to be accurate within 10-20 feet. - You can purchase map updates later unlike other GPS vendors. Cons: - Takes a while to get the GPS singal when turned on. I think the workaround is to always connect it to the car charger.

Great product with only one apparent con

  • Summary: I was one of the first people to buy this GPS (it was sold out for a long time after that). I have it for about 4 months now and I love it! The best features are: 1. The reality view which shows lane pictures and highway signs as they appear in real life. 2. Real-Time traffic update. It was delayed by about 10-15 minutes when I passed a few traffic accidents and congestion but still it's pretty awesome feature to have for the life of the GPS.

Smart Unit

T. Mabry, Amazon

  • Summary: The Navigon 2200T 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigation with Text-to-Speech and Free Traffic Alerts is packed with features, fairly easy to setup with menu's grouped intellingently for general and specific settings. If you are new to GPS technology as I was (Yeah, I know Johnny come lately) be aware that it does take a considerable amount of time for the GPS to locate it's position the very first time you use it.

A bargain for the performance and features

Amazon Customer, Amazon

  • Summary: For years I have been using my HP iPaq pocketPC to host GPS software such as Routis and TomTom Navigator. But when the price of dedicated portable GPS devices started to approach what it would cost to update my software and map data, I thought it might be time to consider that alternative. I set my criteria to include text-to-speech, auto zooming, traffic updates, lane-assistance, and reality view.

Navigon 2200T

M.Blanchard, Rate it all!
11 December 2008
  • Summary: This is my first GPS, and I am pleased with what I got. I probably won't use this for much more than road trips with family, so I don't need a top of the line, expensive model. I drove from Maine to Florida the day after I bought it, so I was a new GPS user getting a crash course in using it. This was why I bought the 2200T, so I could get traffic updates along the way, as well.
