Cheap Price and It Shows in the Flaws

O. Louie, Amazon
21 June 2007
  • Summary: The MyGuide 3050 is a budget GPS and the cost cutting shows. While the unit looks nice and features are good, the errors are constant and uncorrectable. IMPORTANT: The time / date of the unit will ALWAYS reset upon turn the unit off then on again.

My Guide 3050 - Lots of features, one killer flaw...

W. Marz, Amazon
4 June 2007
  • Summary: I am a GPS junkie. I own or have owned about 15 units over the last 10 years. The features of the MyGuide 3050 are excellent, based on the SiRF chipset capability. As others have pointed out, the lack of a real time clock is a killer. On power-up the unit defaults to 2 AM somewhere in Europe.

Very Good Low Cost GPS

Ian, Amazon
17 May 2007
  • Summary: I have used this GPS for about a year all over the USA and many parts of Canada. It works well and has an amazing amount of info on its 1 GB SD card. Not having to download information from the computer is the way to go.

Useful when I crossed the country in January 2007

Daniel Casner "Planes, Trains, Automobiles...", Amazon
6 February 2007
  • Summary: I recently had to cross the country during a long 2 week business trip. I used the MyGuide 3050 in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, etc. It worked very well and I was able to get around without having to print out pages from Mapquest for every city. I feel it was a great purchase.
