Summary: Got this for my husband and he has really enjoyed hiking with this GPS. He is able to mark point of interest with a photo and check actual miles hiked with ease. He loves the way it functions. Has really enjoyed this item. Great for out door people.
Great pro quality GPS if your willing to learn to use it

Summary: The Triton series GPS units tend to function like pro units and usability can be complicated, although the 1500 is pro and the better of the series. The 2000 is only an upgrade if your looking for a camera, all other features are pretty much the same as the 1500. I started on the Triton 300, and then upgraded to the 1500. Past usability, the GPS unit is very good and accurate, I've been using it to plot land and never had it fail on me once.
Summary: The Magellan Triton 1500 is more than just an awesome GPS device. It runs on Windows CE & can easily run a program, via a SD Card, that turns it into a Pocket PC. I watch movies, play games, read eBooks & can run OziEplorer, iGo8 & Beeline GPS software. You can upload highly detailed raster map images as maps, made from Google Earth. The Triton 1500 is rugged, waterproof & touchscreen. Features LED flashlight, voice recorder, headphone jack, MP3 player & speaker.
Summary: I love this unit. Easy to use and works great. Only issue is you cant buy the topo software at most sporting stores. you have to get it off Magellan.com. But the unit itself is easy to use, great for the outdoors.
Summary: I won't reiterate what everyone else wrote, except to say that this is a really good GPS when you get things going your way. And that takes a bit of skulduggery, but stay with it and you will be rewarded. I use mine all the time and I'm not easy to please. I attribute the bad reviews to lack of interest to perform due diligence. This unit is pretty sensitive...
Summary: Everything about this unit is great.. The touch screen is very accurate and precise and all the settings are very simple and easy to use. The MP3 and video player are a nice touch also.. I have no problem running a 8 GB card in it.. I have loaded several NAT GEO TOPO maps in mine and they come up fast and work great. The only thing lacking is a case and a carry strap for around the neck..
