Summary: slow to respond sometimes. fast to pick up gps signal. no way to charge except when plugged in to the car and battery doesn't last long unplugged. like it so far but still don't get why it costs as much as a used gps to update the maps when they offer free maps for life to some
Summary: After reading many good reviews, I brought my Magellan SE4 in 2011. It was easy to setup and use, has great speech turn by turn directions with many other impressive features. I was very happy with it until I discovered I would have to pay another $79 to update the maps. In the past few years, there's been a lot of new construction in my area, so I can't totally rely on it's accuracy.
Summary: I don't mind this product for the average user. It gets me around from place to place in my city without much fanfare. My only gripe is that it won't charge at home. I need to plug it into my car for it to work. I have a friend who has the same model and the same problem. I've tried several different chargers, and no dice. It won't recharge itself from car, home or usb. So it is a hassle to have to carry the cord around all the time.
Summary: I BOUGHT THIS PRE-OWNED BUT IS PERFECT. BEATS PRINTING OUT MAP QUEST PAPER WHICH IS AS DANGEROUS AS TEXTING CAUSE YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE PAPER WHILE DRIVING. I DON'T NEED TO USE IT OFTEN BUT I HAVE AND IT'S AWESOME.
Summary: Compared to my 5 year old Garmin, this thing is a piece of ****. It does hit residential addresses to within about a block. That's ok in the daytime when I can see house numbers, but not very helpful at night. If I turn off a mapped route to take a known shortcut, it continues to try to redirect me back to the original route....even though my destination is 2 miles away, and the gps mapped route is 12 miles around.
Summary: Great GPS in every way.Large clear screen, user friendly for maps and locations. Loud colear speaker. Good size for purse or backpack. Makes fewer location errors than others I have had.Gave one to my daughter for her birthday, and she loves it too!!
