Summary: I bought this for the big display. It is big. I have always been a Garmin guy but decided to give Magellan a try. Here is a list of likes and dislikes Like 1. Size of display 2. Ease of Menu use 3. Range of devices to attach to the dash/window Dislikes 1. Not like Garmin 2. GPS instruction is "slow" to my liking 3. Attachement devices are cumbersome and bulky I still have it, but prefer the Garmin.
Great sized screen. Bluetooth non-functional, backup camera works about 90%

Summary: "It does everything" [but not very well] I bought this because it was kind of the flagship product. It was theoretically to add Bluetooth and a backup camera to my car. I have had this product about two years now. Maps Lifetime maps was a big selling point for me. I previously had a Magellan but it was $99 to update maps, so why not just put that towards a newer model, right? Planned obsolescence.
Summary: Good GPS but some issues with mounting bracket. THey only provide a very large clunky bracket which tend to shake alot while driving. Don't buy the backup camera that goes with this. It doesn't have enough power to transmit without breaking up. Finally had to return GPS and backup camera. Installer couldn't prevent intermittent display either.
Summary: The only "major" flaw is losing of all state roads when the unit is left on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At least one time a week the unit has to be reconnected to the computer via a USB cable in order to get all the non-state roads back. Once the non-state roads disappear, you will get an invalid address. It looks as if you are in a middle of a field. Powering off the unit and powering it back on will not work.
Pros: Great verbal directions and alerts (Visual & Audible). Alert for traffic conditions saved many hours of traffic headaches. Would recommend unit as long as you can live with the con listed below.
Cons: Constantly losing non-state roads. Leave on 24 hours a day due to emergency response and after approx. 1 week all non-state roads disappear. Turning the unit off & then back on does not resolve the issue. Must reconnect to computer to get roads back.
Nice unit but struggling with the windshield mount

Summary: I got what I wanted (a large display) but I am struggling to get the windshield mount to stay stuck to the windshield. Not sure what the issue is. I have the 9055-LM resting on the dash so I do not think it is a weight issue. Have also tried suspending it above the dash; but the suction cup will not stay secure for more than an hour. Could be the cold weather, so I will see in the summer.
Summary: The good: - big screen, traffic alerts, sound, quick to recalculate a route, touch screen is quick and you don't have to press hard, when used in conjunction with magellan wireless back up camera it really shines. Helpful tech help. The bad:- Screen not as bright as my Garmin, bluetooth issues with Samsung gallaxy 3, No speed limit and speed of vehicle. not as accurate as the Garmin in finding the correct location. it's heavy and moves a bit when attached to the window.
Summary: Instead of paying $1000+ for the factory GPS/technology options packages, I thought it would be more versatile to have a large screen portable GPS unit such as the Magellan Roadmate 9055 for my non-GPS equipped vehicles. Likes: >Large 7" WVGA (800×480 resolution) screen for easy viewing and use. There's also an AV in port. >Easy to install with sturdy and stable windshield mount using large suction cup and resting on the dash.
Summary: In the car, the device seems to work fine, but there was a hardware problem. You must use Content Manager to do updates from MagellanGPS.com. No direct downloads from web site. Post Review: There was a problem with the unit and not Content Manager. Magellan is sending new unit in exchange for new one. Excellent Phone support from MagellanGPS.com.
