Summary: Pros ; none really it will get you where you need to go I guess Cons ; first off it's huge not at all what I expected Second it loses signal constantly Third to update or to get software from Magellan is almost impossable
Summary: The good: This GPS will get you where you're going (eventually); an extensive points of interest database; maps of north america preloaded. The bad: Directions take you throught slow center of towns rather than finding bypasses, etc.; battery doesn't stay charged for more than about a half hour; pre-loaded maps of Europe cost over $250 to unlock; maps and points of interest are well out of date.

Summary: This works fine, and is OK to use, but I have had some other GPS map finders in rental cars that are spectacular by comparison. I got this because AAA sells them, but in all I am disappointed.
Summary: i cant even get to the point where i can use it. i cant get it to say on my dashboard. it falls off, sits n my seat, and after a pont it loses the signal as it is sitting on my seat.. not too happy with this unit. since i have been unable to use it.
Summary: Magellan RoadMate 800 Portable GPS Navigator The unit works well and is usually accurate and reroutes you quickly enough. Magellan map updates are way behind and impossible to use. I purchased the latest update from them when it became available in the 4th quarter 2007 and the update is dated 3rd quarter 2006 - plus now that installation has failed multiple times- the unit is useless since it's hard drive was altered during the process.
Summary: Well, it GOT me to SC, but couldn't find half of the addresses I needed to go to. The POI selection is also quite limited. When I got to NC it was worse. I was driving up and down one section of hwy 70 for 30 minutes. I finally stopped and asked directions. It turns out I was within .5 miles of my turn, but the maps hadn't been updated on the unit. The new road system has been in place for nearly 5 years in that area.
Summary: Hands down top of the heap for all mobile GPS units. This is the 5th one I've recomended oor purchased for someone else. Over 6 million POI'S. When they update the maps in Sept. 07 I would hope they would also update the POI data as well..
