Bought 2

Charles Haze, Amazon
13 January 2014
  • Summary: I have owned 2 of these and both have just stopped working. I really like having buttons instead of a touch screen because if you use this for work like i do your hands can get really dirty and touching a screen is the last thing i want to do, at least the buttons are easier to clean.

If you want to go to NC, SC or OH - forget it!

Overstock
29 September 2007
  • Summary: Well, it GOT me to SC, but couldn't find half of the addresses I needed to go to. The POI selection is also quite limited. When I got to NC it was worse. I was driving up and down one section of hwy 70 for 30 minutes. I finally stopped and asked directions. It turns out I was within .5 miles of my turn, but the maps hadn't been updated on the unit. The new road system has been in place for nearly 5 years in that area.

  • Summary: We recently relocated and I received this as a gift a few years ago and I will say that it is nice. I feel much safer knowing this is in the car with me. I will say these are much better than navigating a map while driving. The mp3 player on this unit is basically unusable. Unless you plan to drive with a set of earphones connected to your windshield mounted GPS unit and who really does that?

Poor to very poor maps

V. DAngelo, Amazon
6 April 2007
  • Summary: This is an easy to use GPS system and could have been good to excellent except for the fact that the map that comes with it is at least 4 years old. I tried to find out about updates but Magellan does not answer there customer service Email. So I called them and they said they plan to update their units every 18 months. I have had mine longer and it was out dated the moment I used it.
