Summary: Am extremely disappointed in this unit. I bought it, as others have, because I had good service out of my old Magellan but wanted the lifetime map updates. Be careful what you wish for! I'm taking a long trip in a couple of weeks and attempted to program multi-destination stops. First of all...it takes FOREVER to key in anything. Long long pauses between letters....too long to be useful on the highway..
Summary: While I haven't used this a lot since receiving it, I am a bit frustrated by it. The first time I used it, it tried to take me 14 miles out of my way when using "FASTEST TIME" mode to a location three counties away. As I already knew the fastest way and ignored the GPS, it did recalculate on the way to my route. It doesn't seem to want to recalculate when switching from one mode to another during the trip, i.e. "SHORTEST DISTANCE" to "FASTEST TIME.
Summary: -After updating the software, it stopped speaking. -Content Manager is not compatible with the latest Mac OS. -When I tried to update the map, it said the software needs to be updated first, but there was no newer version of software available. -I tried to restore the default fallowing the instruction, which didn't work. -I tried to do a factory reset, which didn't work too. -Slow. It always shows me the turns where I WAS supposed to turn.
Summary: When it arrived ( great shipping Guys !! Thanks ) I downloaded the update manager software and updated the maps Etc. That was a pain! then when I decided to plug it in and use it I had to plug it in 1/2 way and wiggle the plug to get it to work as when you plug it in all the way nothing happens. Also when it works a large portion of the screen is blocked by various icons making it hard to see the map. I returned it and will buy another brand.
Summary: You could be travelling on a 100-year road it would have you in some corn field telling you go resume to the road you are already on. Try looking for the Pinery Provencial Park in Ontario, Canada which this lovely machine can locate via its "campground" feature, but takes you 10 miles in the WRONG direction. Test the "HOME" feature - my old RoadMate could get me there, but the new-and-improved version doesn't know I exist.
