  • Summary: I had a roadmate 1220 before which was many years older than this This GPS operating system seems sluggish even though its far more recent than my old one On the plus side, once again, the Magellan GPS has a turn notification bell. which no other brand really has.

Wish it would have been more accurate with its maps.

  • Summary: I have a few other GPS units. Three TOMTOMs and one Garmin. This is my first magellan. I REALLY wanted to love this GPS but it just had some issues that made that near impossible. First the Pro's and Con's.

Don't waster your money on a lost cause

F. B. Craig, Amazon

  • Summary: This GPS has a worse sense of direction than I do. I will be driving down the freeway and who knows where it thinks I am,but it tells me to make a U-turn or turn left, etc. Occasionally, it figures out where I am. Last night, I needed it to get to the freeway from a place I'd never been before.

  • Summary: GPS is fine but the volume doesn't go too high so if you're hard of hearing or play music/talk in the car, it might not be loud enough.

  • Summary: Holy (nope, not gonna type it) - this thing is a misery. Actually, since I bought two, they are a double misery. Oh, they will tell you exactly where they are, but the routing software had to be designed by the most heinous practical joker on the planet.

  • Summary: Spoken Street Name Guide with text to speech is clear and precise. The 3D Landmarks add on is a nice touch. The free lifetime maps and traffic updates package are a great incentive. Personally, the Landmarks feature is a good thought but I still prefer street names.

Everything seems fine however with the GPS

Jake, Amazon
13 January 2015
  • Summary: I haven't had much opportunity to fully wring out this unit but the main complaint I have is the volume level. I have 2 other Magellan GPS (Maestro Series) and the volume level is strong as to where I can clearly hear the directions.
