Summary: I purchased a factory refurbished 5145T-LM unit from TigerDirect during a 1-day sale back in July for use on a 10-day road trip with my two kids. The price was low enough (sub-$70) that I thought I'd take a chance.
Summary: Thia is my second (and last) Magellan. It is a total piece of garbage. It constantly freezes and then restarts- but it never actually does anything. Do not buy this unless you have a back-up unit because this one is crap.
Worst customer service I've encountered in a LONG time

Summary: I'm sorry for the lengthy review. I don't believe in rambling but it's kind of a long story. First, the unit itself works.... alright. Not great but reasonably well. My google maps on my smart phone actually is more accurate. But I would NEVER again purchase a Magellan product.
Summary: When first purchased, had a lot of issues trying to connect to a PC to check for map updates. I thought the GPS was defective, got an RMA #, and then it suddenly worked and I was able to load the newest maps. Installed it in our car, and used it over the next 6 months. It's a very good GPS.
Summary: Found it to be a reliable guide almost wherever I've tried to use it. The speaker's diction is hard to figure out when (I think) she says "maining on ... street or ...", she means "remaining on ...
Summary: got it for urgent travel need. The GPS receiver sensitivity is ok - not spectacular but passable. What makes this a sure shot thumbs down is the badly programmed GPS software and I guess this maybe a problem w/ ALL similar generation Magellan GPS So I was traveling across the breath of NM / AZ and...
Summary: This is my third Magellan unit. The first two never gave me an issue. Purchased this model for me and my girl friend. It works sometimes but not all of the time. It gets lost. It takes you off a road then back onto the same road.
Summary: The route this gps chooses is not necessarily the best/fastest. Once, I was prompted to take a road parallel the interstate for about 6 miles. Also, I do not like how the smaller streets disappear from the display at only a mild amount of zoom-out.
