Summary: This is a great product that gets me where I need to go. Large screen, intuitive interface, and good directions. Only issue is that it does not allow input of lat/long coordinates. This is not clearly documented anywhere that I could find.
Summary: As someone who owns an Android phone with Google Navigation I thought my owning a stand alone GPS days were over simply because, well, I have a GPS on my phone for free so who needs to buy one now.
Summary: I bought the magellan 5045LM for my parents. I have the garmin Nuvi and for the most part like it; however at times it gets very confused and it doesn't give you as early notice for upcoming turns as the Magellan. Thus I purchased the Magellan for my parents.
Summary: I replaced my Garmin Nuvi 765T because the power cradle kept failing, after the third replacement, I gave up. Please note that the 765T was not the point of failure. The Magellan Roadmate 5045-LM had a larger screen, increased lexicon (pronounced all road/street names), and LT map and traffic.
Summary: Just returned from VACATION yesterday. Drove from Central FL to SW corner of WI. Had no issue with routing since I used fastest time rather than shortest route. Some of the PoI's seemed to freeze thus causing the device to reboot.
