Summary: Maps of Europe are not very accurate. Limited functions, as example can not navigate to a GPS position have to use address,, city center, etc. actually am so disappointed I have used it once and plan to return. Very disappointed.
Summary: I ordered the product, excited to finally get a new GPS. The other one started sending me in circles. Before I started using it I decided to update the maps. The maps took time, but it updated. The system wouldn't turn on when I went for the on button. If it was on, it stayed on 1 minute. The 2 times it did stay on for 3 minutes, it was slow when I was typing in the address. I charged it in the car, in a wall outlet and on the computer. No charge. Makes no sense.
Summary: The windshield mount interferes severely with inserting the power cable and with holding it in place; shame on Magellan for the inadequate design! Also, the unit randomly and inexplicably locks up/freezes for 30-60 sec at a time. Shame on whoever refurbished it for re-selling units that are so deficient! It ends up costing everybody more unnecessarily (do they really think consumers would want to accept such flaws!
Summary: I recently purchased the Magellan 5045T-EU product for a trip on the East coast and in Germany. The east coast went reasonably well, not perfect, but Germany was a complete fiasco. I drove from Munich to Hohenschwangau to Berchtesgaden and then back to Munich Airport. From Munich to Hohenschwangau there were only couple of issues, the device told me to make a turn when there was nowhere to turn, but I could see the turn further up the road.
Summary: I bought my first Magellan Roadmate that worked fine until someone stole it. Broke in the car, a Jeep Liberty, took stole it. Up until then the unit worked great -- had it about 1 yr plus. Bought a second one: within months it froze-- left me stranded in well established neighborhoods-- I'd turn it off, unplug everything, worked for a while then, froze and didn't know where we were couldn't get me out of jam -- froze and left me stranded.
I should have read the previous reviews before buying.

Summary: I had my Garmin for a few years and it didn't have the map updates so I decided to get another unit that did. I chose the Megellan RoadMate 5045 as it was priced well and I liked the features. I'm an appraiser and I rely on a gps on a daily bases sometimes for up to 15 houses a day. It seemed to work the first couple of days or so, but then things went downhill fast.
Summary: This GPS did not work well and the technical support from Magellan was very slow. Even after a long and tedious process of updating the maps, this unit still did not show a new hospital 5 minutes from my house that has been open for years now. When I tried to use the hospital search function, the unit froze.
