Summary: What a great deal. I got this model with lifetime map & traffic updates for less than the cost of a single map update for my previous model,(Magellan Maestro)plus it has a larger screen. I'm very pleased with this product so far.
Summary: received new out of box, all works and registered ok upgraded soft ware online, like the 5 inch screen better the only thing not as good as could be is the voice tone and clarity, sounds like the female voice has something in her mouth. like the apps and traffic features. bought for features and price off ebay paid $100.00 great deal.
Summary: After having gone through a TomTom GPS (which I loved but couldn't stand that it wouldn't turn on and off with the car), and most recently a Garmin Nuvi, which fixed the problem I had with the TomTom but was extremely slow and filled the screen with ads for Red Lobster coupons, I returned both and purchased this Magellan unit. Having been a previous owner many years ago of a 4.3" unit, I was happy to be back to my familiar menus and layout.
Summary: I previously had a Magellan which worked well. I bought this particularly due to the fact that it has lifetime maps & traffic. It's a good value for the money & the screen is a nice size and very readable.
Summary: This is our 2nd Magellan GPS. It is great. Easy to use. Great display. The maps have been correct every time. We've used it for 3 long trips already. Love the food/gas feature. We were needing a gas station and when we touched the symbol on the screen, it displayed 3 options for various gas stations. It was better than we hoped!!! Only one small problem- it froze/ lost signal while we were in New Orleans. I unplugged it & then turned it back on..
Summary: I'm not thrilled with this GPS, but there are some nice points. PROS: 1) Large screen. Once you go big, you'll never want a little one again 2) loud and easy to read 3) maps and traffic updates. lifetime maps is a huge bonus. 4) quickly navigates out of wrong turns to get my where I need to go. 5) 3D Map is fantastic. CONS: 1) Not totally accurate. Constantly asks me to make u-turns when it's not necessary.
Summary: We've had to return ours TWICE (in less than six months) for repair or replacement. The second time it failed was after we were 200 miles into a 1000-mile trip heading out West. Plus, the software interface is, often, not very intuitive. It's even less impressive than the GPS units that we owned when they first came out 10 years ago. Sometimes, it won't even list valid cities (Lincoln, Nebraska, for example) when it lists all other cities of the same or similar name.
