Summary: I bought one of these new about 8 years ago and loved it . So when it failed a few years ago I went to Ebay to find a replacement , with mixed results . these units are now old and having problems and most of them on here are broken in some way . some freeze , some go off when you hit a bump , some have no sound . I have around 9 now with only 2 working .
Summary: I bought the GPS Receiverand was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive gps. It is in a good condition. The size is perfect for carrying in a pocket. My only complaint is that the menu system on the gps makes you click many times before you can find someone and perform a additional functions. Other gps I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the gps if you're on a budget.
Summary: The unit is easy to use, with large buttons. Easy to follow on screen instructions. Display is small compared to some units on the market, but the turn by turn voice prompts handle that with ease. You must choose which part of the U.S. you will be using the unit during initial setup, but it is simple enough to do. Overall satisfied with the GPS unit.
Summary: This was my mistake: this unit has no battery, so it is only alive when the car runs. If the car's engine stopped and you start it again, your unit will re-initiate. Another inconvenience is that you need to specify the narrow region you are driving in. As you move from NY to MA, for example, you get lost since the two sets of the maps - for NY and MA - cannot be loaded simultaneously.
Summary: The name brand and the seller having an excellent rating helped me decide on this one. This being my first GPS as a gift I am thinkin of one for me in the future.. We will see. If your looking for reliability and beautiful screen, this is it!
Summary: I found the GPS unit to be awkward, bulky and quite disappointing. It compares so poorly with my previous TomTom units or even my GPS capable cell phone. I can not see me buying another Magellan GPS unit. Life is too short to compromise that much.
