Good unit when it works, extremely poor customer service
25 March 2009
Summary: Unit work beautifully for the first 6 months (hence the ONE star). The unit started to freeze up occasionally and unexpectedly and would have difficulties locating the GPS satellites. Updated the software online to see if that would solve this problem.
Summary: OBSERVATIONS: I have used GPS products for years and depression readily sets in when you compare the 3000T to, as an example, a comparable Garmin or Tom-Tom product. The Magellan Units feel 'tinny' in comparasion.
Very disappointing, lousy tech support, stay away!

Summary: This RoadMate 3000T is my third Magellan product I've owned and by far THE most disappointing. I've come to expect good, high-quality products like my original GPS 315 from Magellan that still perform excellently many years since I first purchased it.
Summary: No matter how you hold this you will accidentilly press a button. In addition the menu is lousy. For instance one screen has 3 options "route" "yes" "no". I still haven't memorized what to press to get back to my original route (it is not "route"). There is no "home".
Magellan repair service is unreliable! Pray yours never fails!!

Summary: Over two months ago, when my daughter's Magellan RoadMate 3000T would no longer keep the internal battery charged, she sent it to their repair service center in Texas (a week each way). My daughter is a midwife and uses the GPS to "get there on time!" It was returned but the same problem persisted.
Summary: We bought the Magellan 3000T in December 2006 and have had nothing but problems with both the product and Magellan's customer service. The problems we've had are major. First, the windshield mount broke within weeks of purchase, and we had to ship the broken old one and get a redesigned replacement.
Summary: Stay away from this GPS (and Magellan products as a whole) for the following reasons: 1) The GUI is confusing; the screen where you type in the address of where you want to go is extremely hard to find. Amazingly, its not one of the actual buttons on the unit.
Company Refuses to Repair this 14 Month-Old Unit + BOGUS TRADE-IN PROGRAM
25 January 2008
Summary: My father got me this unit at J&R in Oct. 2006. It was used correctly and crashed after 3 hours of use. I mailed it to Magellan for repair and it came back working, but only lasted another 3 hours before crashing again. Company promised new unit which was never received.
