Summary: This is a great piece of equipment. I just took it for a seven hour trip with a lot of turns and twist. It worked great as always. The only thing that can be a little annoying is when you decide to exceed the speed limit by more than four miles per hour a female voice starts yelling warning. I thought to my self gee I thought I left my wife at home!.
Summary: I am very happy with this product. I have used it several times and everything functions properly. The voice command is very helpful so you don't have to look at display. It is also very easy to set up and use. It also has a lot of features for the price. I would most definitely buy it again.

High Tide "High Tide", Amazon
19 August 2014
Summary: This Magellan is very difficult to use and not dependable. It does not recognize city names to set your destination. There is no auto destination setting. In addition, the power cord coming from the bottom makes it impossible to use this device without the stand. If you travel for a living you do not always have the luxury of bringing the stand with you. My family has used Magellan GPS devices for the past 6 years and had good luck up to now.
Summary: The GPS came with the original features and software when it was designed in 2011. However, after following direction and downloading the updated version of the software and map, the GPS works fine as I expected. It is very responsive and easy to use. I like its one touch feature and POI. Only minor drawback is when you exceed speed limit, its announcement just as "warning" is difficult to hear and to understand what it really warns you about.
Summary: Just returned it to Amazon. In addition to the software update glitch mentioned elsewhere in these reviews (which required defragmenting the unit's drive), the unit gets lost! Twice now it directed my several miles from my destination - when I entered a specific street address. The street and direction (e.g. n, e, w, s) were correctly showing on the unit, and I was on the right street, but nowhere near my intended destination. First time I thought it was a fluke.
Summary: Received and downloaded the latest Map update. The unit freezes up/locks up and has a lot of errors/anomalies while in operation. Elevation data is not even close to being reasonable. My unit displayed below seal level one time. I was not in a tunnel or below sea level. This unit has made me a lifetime NON Customer of Magellan GPS products.
Summary: Works great and can be updated; unlike my Cobra GPSM2100M that never seemed to work right. It would tell you to turn left when you could see the destination to the right. I have not had that problem with the Magellan and it's easy to use. I would recommend this GPS to a first time user for sure.
Summary: I wanted a very basic GPS at a reasonable price. This unit works well, is very user-friendly, has good audible directions, and has some good features. However, the traffic alerts aren't particularly helpful. Even in major metropolitan areas, it will often show no delays where the traffic is at a standstill; or it shows delays where none exist. I had also read bad things about the downloadable updates--that they wiped out the memory, etc.
Summary: I bought 2 of these. The first one froze up after 3 weeks in my car. The second one I gave to my wife for Christmas 2013 and it did the same thing about 3/20/2014. Trying to get a response from Magellan on either chat or by telephone was a non-starter. Chat had me on hold for over an hour before I attempted the telephone. The telephone had me on hold over an hour as well before I had to give up.
