No more calls from lost wife!

Geeky Guy, Amazon
19 December 2014
  • Summary: My wife gets lost all the time. She used to call me from the road and ask for directions. No more calls since I gave her this! She likes this one better than the last one I got her because it says the street names.

No Magellan Customer Service

Amazon Customer, Amazon
10 May 2014
  • Summary: I had a problem downloading an update to the Magellan Content Manager and the 2045T-LM froze. I was unable to unfreeze and called the Magellan Customer Service number. After 3 calls and waiting over 2 hours without human contact, I gave up. I tried the email contact, and after 3 day w/o response I returned the Item for refund.

Works Great!

Kathy Horton, Amazon
29 April 2014
  • Summary: I needed to get a GPS quickly for a trip. We had an old Magellan Maestro that I didn't want to pay for map upgrades on because the cost was almost as much as a new one. This new unit was easy to use and worked quickly when we tried to use the road signs to direct us to the airport and ended up about 15 miles south of our destination. It turned us around and we were there in 15 minutes! Sure glad we had it because I didn't know where the heck I was at!

Buyer beware

E. Axe "buddha belly", Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: We have had this item for three months and used it very little. On a recent road trip the button for scrolling down to the address book quit working which meant that all the addresses on our itinerary that we had painstakingly entered, 32 in all had to be re entered. The connection to the car is also very sensitive, meaning that if you knock it even slightly when programming it disconnects.

GPS System

Victoria Anderson "Zalaina", Amazon
22 February 2014
  • Summary: I loved this product until I bought a Garmin and that one was so much easier to use. The Magellan is a bit finicky and sometimes has problems finding satellites. Consequently, I was lost for 10-15 on many occasions in large cities and was not comfortable. I would not get another one. Arrived in a timely manner and in perfect condition.

It is a GPS, it does it's job. But there's better available.

broncoben73, Ebay
8 February 2014
  • Summary: The display isn't really easy to read like my Garmin Nuvi 205W, it doesn't have a heads up speedometer (have to tap to show speed and it disappears in a few seconds), graphics just aren't as good. Haven't used it for turn by turn navigation yet. Otherwise it does do the job.

Other GPS seem to work better.

R. M. Eberly, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: Pay attention to the other reviews about inaccurate traffice updates and problems with fastest routes. My consisently takes me round about routes that go past businesses--this seems rather intentional to me--rather than what I now know to be a faster and shorter route. Also the road that I live on and several others in our area even though we have been there for almost two years and reported this roads to Magellan still have not been added.

  • Summary: Great deal for the price. Screen is clear and easy to operate. Would recommend for first time GPS users. Life time map updates is a great feature.

works great

dale, Amazon
18 September 2013
  • Summary: For some reason the Garmin GPS units are always rated higher than the Magellan, whether they come from these reviews or other sources like Consumer Reports.I have two Magellans, and one Garmin (one for each of my cars). Both brands seem to work well. I like the Magellans better for two small reasons: They 'ding' when you are required to turn, and they give you more notice when a turn is coming up.
