Initially time consuming to set up, but once done performs well.

Summary: Once it is warmed up it performs well. Before then, once plugged in & trying to establish a route it's very time consuming. Clicking check mark & menu is no problem. When entering city & street, it's click 1 letter wait & wait & wait, then click next letter & wait all over again. Once entry has been made & option selected then GPS performs well. This is my 2nd Magellan RoadMate 1700 & the 1st with this issue.
Summary: I purchased this GPS, because I needed a good size, monitor to use with a rearview backup camera, which I also bought on Ebay, for around $20.00. I was afraid the 7 inch screen would be too big, but that was not the case. A 3.5 or a 4.5 inch screen would have been too small. The 7 inch screen, was just perfect. This GPS has a AV input jack. It is very accurate as far as pin pointing your position. This is my first GPS, so I have nothing else to compare too.
For the price, I think this one is the Best for the price, Screen

Summary: Performs well, better than I expected. Little slow and skipy on movement, menus are great, easy to find Items, large screen a real plus +++ Is a very good help, can't wait to add one upload for upgrade for Truck Stops to see if it will preform as good as the trucker's Cobra, and Rand McNally, I think I will leave this one in my daily Chey Truck, and buy another for my Semi... Thanks Megellan JS Tacoma, Wa.

Easy to use, quite accurate. AV feature needs more instructions and cables.

Summary: I bought this GPS mainly for the AV feature. I wanted to hook up a backup camera and have it use the same view screen as my GPS so I can have a localized "command center" in my car. There were no instructions about how the AV connection works, or AV cables included with this unit. I had to scour the Internet on what cable to get and how this feature works. However, once I figured it out the feature worked perfectly.
