Inquiring signal time is unpredictuble (30 min or entire trip time)

Summary: After 6 months this GPS became a headache. I am a new driver in Pittsburgh and can't move anywhere without GPS. The device continues inquiring signal for 15 minutes or more and after receiving the signal it either show my home location or show me th route option. This process will take around 20-30 minutes. What I suppose to do. Wait for the Megellan Roadmate to show me the driving way or cancel my trip and go back home.
Summary: PROS: Great screen, easy functions... adjustable routes and sounds. Priced VERY competitively! It will get you where you are going eventually. CONS: If it is more than 2 blocks, you can find a better route than this POS! I have yet to use it and not known a better route once I got to my destination. I used it going to Buffalo from VA, then took my regular route coming back.
Summary: This gps gave me problems from the start. I should've returned it ... fast. The connection from the device to the car adapter was loose and at best faulty. One trip, we noticed the darn gps didn't transmit any directions for about a 1/2 hour, only to learn the cable fell out. STFD! The system routinely shuts down mid trip. Cussing at it doesn't help either.
Summary: I had been waiting for prices to drop on this unit since it was first introduced, to consolidate an existing wired backup camera monitor with an updated replacement for an older Magellan GPS. Even set on the highest setting this unit was not nearly bright enough to view in the daytime, and with sunglasses on it was completely impossible for me to see while driving. The street name announcement voice is horribly muffled/garbled.
Summary: When my 5" Magellan was stolen out of my car, I decided to get the 7" with lifetime maps. My 5" came with an AC cord so I could charge before using and while inside trying to plot my course. I am shocked this 7" doesn't come with an AC cord, especially since it arrived with the maps out of date and needing about 6 hours to update. Fortunately, another reviewer suggested using a 12 volt battery charger which I had available.
Summary: The unit for some reason has a hard time orienting itself. telling me to take a right, then when i do it says make u-turn and go the other way. Tried to update map for new roads, says map is up to date. I'm buying a Garmin.
Summary: When you update its maps ( took 4 hrs to download??) you lose the ability to chose your own route to a destination unless you know the street names and numbers for each City you want to bypass enroute. One big bad glitch in my book. Come on Magellan fix it. Also the unit doesnt come with an ac adaptor so you have to leave it plugged into your car or truck overnight to charge upo the battery enough to be able to download map updates, my battery will only last about 15 to...
Summary: Three Stars for now - If I ever manage to get this unit charged up and actually use it, I may end up changing this. I can't believe that this unit didn't come with an AC adapter to charge the battery with. As clearly stated on Page 3 of the manual, it will take THREE hours to fully charge it via the vehicle power cable. Once charged, it will last a mere thirty minutes. Why should I have to run my car for three hours just to get this unit charged?
Summary: After owning other maggellan gps's I purchased this for it's size and I added the backup cam. i am completely disatisfied with this unit. Just came back from a 3000 mile trip and used my map more then the gps.Would tell you to turn left when you needed to go right, would tell you to turn after you already passed the turn, when on the highway it would tell you to enter the highway in x amount of miles, would repeat this several times.
