A total waste of money and dash space.

John R Kucharski, Amazon
14 November 2013
  • Summary: PROS: Great screen, easy functions... adjustable routes and sounds. Priced VERY competitively! It will get you where you are going eventually. CONS: If it is more than 2 blocks, you can find a better route than this POS! I have yet to use it and not known a better route once I got to my destination. I used it going to Buffalo from VA, then took my regular route coming back.

Product was inferier and seller has poor customer service

R. C. Walters, Amazon
20 September 2013
  • Summary: My Magellan screen burned out well within the 90 day warranty period. Amazon sent me an email to contact the seller to get authorization to return. I corresponded with the seller customer service for four days. I even sent them two photos of the device to show them what it was doing and that you could not view 75% of the screen. They did not ask me for photos, I just volunteered to send them.

Disappointing

Jim, Amazon
27 June 2013
  • Summary: I had been waiting for prices to drop on this unit since it was first introduced, to consolidate an existing wired backup camera monitor with an updated replacement for an older Magellan GPS. Even set on the highest setting this unit was not nearly bright enough to view in the daytime, and with sunglasses on it was completely impossible for me to see while driving. The street name announcement voice is horribly muffled/garbled.

Needs AC cord

RMT, Amazon
24 May 2013
  • Summary: When my 5" Magellan was stolen out of my car, I decided to get the 7" with lifetime maps. My 5" came with an AC cord so I could charge before using and while inside trying to plot my course. I am shocked this 7" doesn't come with an AC cord, especially since it arrived with the maps out of date and needing about 6 hours to update. Fortunately, another reviewer suggested using a 12 volt battery charger which I had available.

Has a route glich that needs fixing by Magellan.

2 April 2013
  • Summary: When you update its maps ( took 4 hrs to download??) you lose the ability to chose your own route to a destination unless you know the street names and numbers for each City you want to bypass enroute. One big bad glitch in my book. Come on Magellan fix it. Also the unit doesnt come with an ac adaptor so you have to leave it plugged into your car or truck overnight to charge upo the battery enough to be able to download map updates, my battery will only last about 15 to...

No AC adapter included

T. Rine, Amazon
11 January 2013
  • Summary: Three Stars for now - If I ever manage to get this unit charged up and actually use it, I may end up changing this. I can't believe that this unit didn't come with an AC adapter to charge the battery with. As clearly stated on Page 3 of the manual, it will take THREE hours to fully charge it via the vehicle power cable. Once charged, it will last a mere thirty minutes. Why should I have to run my car for three hours just to get this unit charged?

stevem, Amazon
22 April 2012
  • Summary: After owning other maggellan gps's I purchased this for it's size and I added the backup cam. i am completely disatisfied with this unit. Just came back from a 3000 mile trip and used my map more then the gps.Would tell you to turn left when you needed to go right, would tell you to turn after you already passed the turn, when on the highway it would tell you to enter the highway in x amount of miles, would repeat this several times.

Magellen Gps

gamerteller, epinions.com
27 September 2011
  • Summary: My final recommendation is to not buy this item because it is just not worth the money and has to low of a signal.
  • Pros: It is fast and dependable. It takes you where you need to go.
  • Cons: Slow to acquire a signal and sometimes give you wrong turns.
