Summary: I read some reviews on line and this unit was touted as great bang for the buck. My wife uses it for business. We like the screen which was larger than our old unit. We like the volume as it is easily heard over the car noise. The warning to exit and turns start at about 2 miles out. The trip planning could be a little more clear but since we did not get a set of instructions I can't really complain.
Summary: works great like new!not hard to use. easy to teach my mom how to use it with no complications.. its loud and clear when giving directions. the only thing is it gives you long directions when you can go a quick and faster way to get to destination. will try this out in hawaii in a couple of weeks and see if it works..
Why Pay More? Its everything you want from a GPS and then sum!

Summary: One of the easiest to use, bright screen, chime sounds to confirm the turn or exit(comes in handy when there are multiple streets at night)just try to get it lost it will always keep you on course and the traffic alerts is a plus This is my second Magellan and I've never lost a signal I would not buy anything else...You can also check the accuracy of your speedometer when not programmed to a destination.
Summary: I CAN HAVE IT FIND THE CLOSEST STARBUCKS!!!!!! ISN'T THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING??? It is a nice and small navigator. I like the fact that it has a chargeable battery so you can use it while you are in the house and preview the route before you actually leave. You do have the option of shortest time, shortest distance, on freeways or avoid freeways if possible. You can have it locate places such as the closest Starbucks, or whatever your addition is.
Summary: Simple to use straight from the package. Love the AAA points of interest. Screen size and clarity are amazing. Enough customization of the features to make it your own. My least favorite thing is that I can not just enter a city and street, you have to have a full address, but I can learn to live with that.
Summary: Remanufactured by Magellan with a full as new on year warranty at less than half the retail price; plus, so easy to use you’ll do fine even if you just throw out the manual and just start using it. This is an extremely user-friendly unit with a multitude of easy to find touch screen switchable options and settings.
Summary: This is my first car gps unit, and I had my doubts about it. I mean, I've lived without one this long, why do I need it? Was I ever wrong! Now I don't see how I could ever have functioned without it! I bought it because we met a sportman in the field who said that all the US Forest Service roads were on the gps. Since we are hunters, this seemed like a good thing, rather than just relying on paper maps.
Best GPS for the money, and it just got BETTER for FREE !!

Summary: I don't typically review products, but the 1470 was worth my time. I feel that GPS users fall into two catagories, casual user, and hardcore user. I drive all day for my job, and having a GPS that gets me there, fast, with no issues, is a must. I cannot review this from a casual user's perspective, who travels on holidays, or only one destiation or two per day. From a hardcore user's perspective out of the box, the unit was very good.
Summary: I purchased the Magellan Roadmate 1470 Auto GPS receiver a little over a week ago and upon receipt was immediately impressed at how very easy it was to operate, adding addresses could not have been easier, the quick spell feature is awesome, I've used other GPS units in the past, but I cannot imagine one being more user friendly. In short, I love it.
