Summary: I CAN HAVE IT FIND THE CLOSEST STARBUCKS!!!!!! ISN'T THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING??? It is a nice and small navigator. I like the fact that it has a chargeable battery so you can use it while you are in the house and preview the route before you actually leave.

Summary: You can't go wrong with Magellan's GPS units. They're less expensive than Garmin's and I much prefer the user interface. The Points of Interest is especially terrific for exploring your local or away from home environment.
Best GPS for the money, and it just got BETTER for FREE !!

Summary: I don't typically review products, but the 1470 was worth my time. I feel that GPS users fall into two catagories, casual user, and hardcore user. I drive all day for my job, and having a GPS that gets me there, fast, with no issues, is a must.
Summary: Received the GPS in Dec with factory updated firmware ver 2.02. The firmware is not the most updated but worked very well in my recent trip from Houston to New Orleans. Strength: 1. Large screen with broader view of the map 2. Nice lane assisting 3. 'Smart' detour.
Summary: I have purchased and returned over 5 GPS systems in the last few weeks. I coudn't find one with all the features that I wanted and detailed graphics. Until now. This is the BEST system I have used. I read about it on cnet reviews, it was ranked highest, and it should be.
Summary: I've been a Magellan user for several years - have owned four of their GPS systems, and always appreciate how they have improved their products. This unit is my 5th, and replaces a Magellan 4040. After using it for a while I've confident in saying this is the best one yet!
Summary: The 1470 is my third Magellin, I never had any issues with the other 2 so when this came out I gave my older unit away and purchased this. I've had around 4 weeks without any issues Until I went to their site and updated it to version 2.05. Once I updated it the unit just kept rebooting.
Summary: The 1470 is my second Roadmate after my 700, for which I paid $1200 at Costco years ago. (I still keep the 700 in my second car for emergency use.) The 1470 remains a classic Magellan GPS with turn-by-turn, in the tradition of Hertz Neverlost, with lots of additional Points of Interest data and the...

Summary: I bought this item about a month ago. I live in Houston, TX, and it's worked flawlessly everywhere I've gone. I recently took a one-week trip to Seattle, WA, and again it performed flawlessly. It's got a beautiful display screen and the features are unrivaled for the price point.
