Don't buy this!

JTM, Amazon
3 November 2011
  • Summary: After 13 months of use (with 7 months of non-use), this GPS would not boot up past the loading screen. After an hour on the phone with Magellan's customer service, they offered us a discounted unit (at $80) or their top of the line model discounted to $120 because I bought the unit through a...

I got for $39 so I cannot complain, but...

Mauri, Amazon
14 May 2011
  • Summary: I got this GPS unit refurbished at a very good price. But coming from the "TomTom experience" I think the big cons of this unit is the User Interface. I has the tomtom 130s, ie just a low end model, so when my gps was stolen, I thought I just need another basic and cheap GPS navigator, that's why I...

Mac users beware!

Shaycoo, Amazon
30 April 2011
  • Summary: Bought it a year ago from Amazon for $80 but was disappointed to find it was not made to use with Macintosh computers. We never could find a way to mount it on a curved dashboard. Still, it worked okay for about a year, despite some missing streets and addresses.

Great GPS for the price. Wish it would go back on sale though.

R. Ouellette, Amazon
11 April 2011
  • Summary: I bought this when Amazon had them on sale for $56, should have bought two of them because the price went back up. Would have been nice to have one for each vehicle. In my opinion it was a great investment, it's works flawlessly for me so far.

Good while it lasts

H8Bogez, Amazon
17 January 2011
  • Summary: I had 2 units of this version. The first one bought new, froze after 6 months. There is no hard reset button, so once it freezes its worthless. The reason it froze was while trying to download the latest software update from Magellan, it froze the unit which is quite common.

A Good, Simple GPS

Amazon Customer, Amazon
31 December 2010
  • Summary: I've had this GPS for a few months, and I haven't had any real problems with it. Sunlight visibility is a bit of a problem (as said in the other reviews), but I expected it to be whenever the sun shines on the screen.

Magellan 1340

Brian L. Smith Sr., Amazon
29 December 2010
  • Summary: I ordered this product in July 2010. I leave it in the car when not using it. I got some use of it and it is very handy. However, now (December 2010) the thing can't get past searching for a signal.

Static, Amazon
13 December 2010
  • Summary: So, I've had this unit for a couple of months. I've gone through many states, and even through Canada many times with it. For the most part, it was stellar. Here are my pro's and con's: Pro's: -Awesome lane assist feature. It rocks. Period. -Very good user interface for a smaller GPS.
