Summary: I bought mine last year. I drove 600 miles to AZ. Phoenix and the out laying areas have some pretty complex street systems. But with my Magellan Roadmate I never got lost. Also used it in Las Vegas too. The turn by turn instructions with the automated female voice, and easy to read screen got me there everytime. This is real GPS with quality performance. This is a keeper.
Summary: Can program it to either male or females voice. Love the way it automatically switches to night mode with daylight savings time. Great to have a colored screen. This replaced another brand and its black and white screen. Also displayed map in 3d. With arrows whisles bells before every turn, while displaying turn arrows before you hear his or her voice. Great for auto look up of hospitals, and gas stations, etc. Points of interest are also included.
Summary: We received our Garmin 1212 GPS a few years ago as a gift, and I thought I'd make a review to say we have been happy with it the entire time. It is very easy to use compared to every other GPS I've seen since. I also like that it charges from a standard mini-USB cable, so I never worry about losing the original charger. I will definitely lean towards getting another Magellan in the future.
Summary: I have a Garmen Nuvi and used it often. My wife said she needed it so I bought the Magellian. It doesn't seem better than the Garmen, just different, some ways better, some ways worse. I like the bell that sounds when you are to turn. It is much better than the Garmen's "Turn right" -- - yeah, where???? The Magellian says the street name which is also good. But the Magellian is a awful lot chattier than the Garmen, sometiems good, sometimes not.
