Summary: Bought this to replace an old Meridian Gold. The color screen is more battery intensive but it is easier to distinguish details than the B&W. This unit provides a great amount of functionality and with a WAAS lock is very accurate horizontally. The controls are also large enough to use with gloved hands. It is a shame that they are no longer supported.
Summary: Gps I purchased two weeks ago and was immediately impressed by the number of features available in a price. But it can put the maps, to navigate better. Size is fit for installation in vehicles and in portable and pages. display a good life expectancy of a battery roughly 14 hours. My only complaint is that the gps system menu, you click 1 time before you will be able to locate the additional work. gps other is my own. Your menu is simple and important features easily.
Summary: These were great units but magellan will not repair them anymore they want you to buy the new Triton units. Truth is the Meridian is way better than Triton I don't know what they were thinking but they went the wrong direction with Triton.
Meridian Color Handheld GPS Receiver eats batteries!
9 October 2009
Summary: Top of the line when introduced in 2002, these units are still working with info that's in place now. Very good for Geocaching but eats batteries! Not sure if you (I) really need a color GPS. It's the color that sucks up the juice! The user manual is a MUST READ! Only 102 pages, but good info. Many key strokes require hold down time to access other screens. So on and so forth. Built tough!!!
Summary: I bought this as a replacement for an existing Magellan Meridian Color Handheld GPS Receiver that I had with a bad screen. Obviously I liked it enough to buy the same make and model. The only complaint I really have is that it is slow to get a 3d fix.
